This position will be hired either as a Microbiologist (GH-H pay grade) or a Sr. Microbiologist (GH-J pay grade) depending on the level of education and experience of the successful applicant.
The South Dakota Public Health Laboratory is centrally located in Pierre, SD, and provides medical microbiology, environmental chemistry, and forensic testing services. The SDPHL is currently seeking a MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician), MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist), or Microbiologist to join our team. The Medical Microbiology Section provides bacteriology, molecular, mycology, mycobacteriology, serology, virology, and special pathogens testing. The incumbent will work closely with a team of scientists to provide clinical and public health microbiology testing for clients throughout the state of South Dakota. Duties will include diagnostic testing in a high-complexity environment, data analysis and reporting, and client relations.
