Technical/Functional Skills

Good to have - Job Skills/Knowledge:

• Experience with UNIX operating system.

• Understanding of networking protocols such TCP/IP and HTTP.

• Good customer relationship skills.

• Experience working with mainframes and mainframe access.

• Experience with Oracle operating system.

• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Handle ticket escalations from Level 1/2 helpdesks.

• Work with end users to resolve service related issues.

• Support periodic operational tasks such as OS patching, application updates and infrastructure changes.

• Administration of Sun Java System Web Server 7 on several servers.

• Perform administration and maintenance of MySQL databases.

• Administration of middleware components such as SNA Access Server, Enterprise Print Server and WebConnect server.

• Monitor UNIX servers for performance problems (disk space, memory, network, etc.).

• Perform UNIX system administration tasks such as creating print queues, updating configuration files and restarting services.
