We are in need of a full time, direct hire Mental Health Professional in Aberdeen, WA.

Major Duties:

The Mental Health Counselor works under the supervision of the Program Director. This position provides mental health services to both adults and children. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

Will work with the client in the development of an individual services plan that is strength based and meets their unique needs.
Will provide individual therapy, group therapy and case management services to consumer/patients assigned to them in accordance with the individual service plan and evaluation recommendations.
Will work as part of a treatment team.
Maintain complete and up to date clinical files that document all services and contacts provided.
Supports and implements agency policies and procedures.
Represents the Agency in the community at various meetings and clinical reviews with the approval of the supervisor.
Is available on-call to ensure continuity of care for agency client.

Job Requirements:

Must possess a master' s degree in mental health counseling or a behavioral science master' s, or a field relating to mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy from an approved school.
Possess a Washington State counselor credential.
Have at least 3 years experience as a mental health professional.
Have at least 1 year of experience working with adults suffering from co-occurring mental illness.
Familiarity with Washington State regulations related to the provision of mental health services

Our creative and effective mental health service interventions include crisis intervention and extended stabilization support as well as long-term, team-based services. Emphasis is on achieving incredible outcomes with children, youth, and families by actively partnering with them along with their natural and community services and supports to achieve long term safety and stability in our neighborhoods and communities. Position is Full-time with extensive benefits. Schedules are flexible to accommodate client family schedules. Hours may include evenings and weekends. ResponsibilitiesWelcome, Engagement and Assessment: * Communicate role, responsibility and agency philosophy in order to assure mutual respect. * Confidence and trust with the child, family and other stakeholders. * Meet and engage the family communicating compassion, support, respect and enthusiasm for them and your role as a helper. * Listen to and analyze the family's story, and with them, identify strengths, needs, preferences and goals. * Provide and/or arrange necessary crisis response and stabilization services, completing and communicating the safety/crisis plan with family and others. * Contact potential team members, including other system partners, to gather their perspective on the family's strengths and needs and solicit participation and commitment to a team process. Individualized Service Planning: * Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to the child and family. * Customize helping approaches to fit the family's uniqueness, personality, culture and interest. * Provide intensive and strength based therapeutic mental health services and supports to children, youth and families in the community including: assessing for immediate safety and stabilization needs, treatment plan development, safety and crisis planning, child and family team meeting facilitation, on-going assessment and evaluation of current treatment planning strategies, goals, and outcomes * Facilitate the child and family team to: Identify and prioritize goals and needs. Communicate and translate information in a way that everyone can hear, especially the family's position. Brainstorm and negotiate strategies that build on child and family strengths. Summarize and write up the plan. * Consult with clinical supervisor, mental health specialists and others as needed and incorporate recommendations. Implementing Service: * Report relevant information to the right people at the right time. * Work interdependently with others toward common goals. * Respond to child and family needs in a timely fashion. * Meet productivity and documentation standards using collaborative problem solving strategies to ensure complete, accurate and strength based documentation for all children/youth and families * Respond to crises in a prompt, effective and collaborative manner. Provide and/or facilitate the provision of a range of therapeutic responses that support the overall plan (including individual and family therapies). * Utilize parent/family expertise in problem solving around specific needs. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in social work, psychological, behavioral sciences or related field. * 21 years or older per contract requirements. * One year experience serving children and/or families (e.g. mental health, social services, education). * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, auto registration and automobile insurance. * Agency Affiliated License (HIV/AIDS training required) or applied for within 1st month of employment. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS' driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract). * First/Aid CPR certified or the ability to become certified within the 1 month of employment. * Proof of negative TB test within past 12 months or ability or test within first six months of employment. * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
