Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development and Strategy, this role supports the Presidents of Qorvo's three business segments and will interface with other executive staff members, including the CEO, CFO, General Counsel, and board members. Based on level of experience, this position could be considered for Sr Manager.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant business, strategic marketing, and/or technical experience within financial institutions (such as investment banking) or technology companies

  • Specifically, 3 to 5+ years of Corporate Development experience across any sector, working with investment bankers, venture capital firms, executing mergers and acquisitions, developing strategies, forming alliances and partnerships, setting valuations, and conducting financial modeling

  • Education: BS in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering; an MBA is preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Keen business acumen, good judgment, and analytical skills

  • Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • Capable of working with executives as well as at all levels of the business

  • Comfortable interfacing with internal colleagues and external advisors

  • Able to create and deliver, clear and concise presentations; capable of working at a detailed level while summarizing information at the executive level

  • Knowledgeable in business planning, corporate finance (FP&A) and financial modeling

  • Ability to be task-minded and flexible as time-sensitive projects arise

  • Considerable experience working with valuation models and reviewing legal agreements

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Acquisitions and Divestitures

You will be tasked with collaborating with business units and technology groups to assess the alignment of potential targets with strategic assessment criteria, including the criteria set by executive management and the Board. Alongside the finance team, you will develop financial models, incorporating sensitivity analysis to evaluate prospects effectively.

You must possess the ability to determine valuations and work with investment bankers as needed. Additionally, you may be required to present to Qorvo's executive staff, offering objective insights into the business rationale, metrics, and terms-highlighting key milestones when relevant-of making an investment, acquisition, or divestiture. Your primary objective will be to lead the acquisition team through the transactional processes efficiently.

Corporate Ventures

You will be responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities for both technical and business viability. Collaborate with Business Units and technical groups, including functional area leads, to identify and assess potential investments.

Prepare detailed investment summaries for the investment board's review, and possibly for the Board's Corporate Development Committee. You must be adept at working with external legal and financial advisors, as well as internal Business Development and Business Unit teams, to develop, review, and negotiate investment documents. This role is expected to enhance the investment process, monitor ongoing investments, and extract strategic value for Qorvo.

Corporate Alliances

You will help lead and coordinate efforts among individuals in Business Units and/or functional areas to establish the optimal business structure between Qorvo and its partners. You will bring valuable business insights to forge successful alliances.

Your responsibilities also include negotiating terms, co-developing business models as necessary to evaluate various business options and leading the development of contracts. This role requires a proactive approach to collaboration and strategic thinking to ensure effective partnerships.

Strategy Development

You must be able to collaborate effectively with any business or functional group, serving as a trusted business partner to help develop and facilitate their strategic vision. Your role will require you to be an objective observer, capable of asking critical questions to challenge and refine strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing scenario planning, reviewing work, and providing constructive feedback to ensure alignment with overarching goals and continuous improvement.

New Business Initiatives & Other

Co-lead and manage the development of business plans and market analyses for prospective new business and market opportunities.

Support Qorvo's Business Development (BD), Business Units (BUs), and Finance teams in leading change by improving benchmarking, measurement, and reporting. Enhance business and financial modeling skills and decision-making abilities among managers.

Additionally, focus on increasing overall efficiency and productivity within the organization. This role plays a crucial part in optimizing operational practices and driving Qorvo's strategic initiatives forward.

Travel: The role may require up to 20%

This position requires access to ITAR/EAR technologies. Applicant must be a US Person (US citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.
