Job Summary

The Manager-Quality and Reliability oversees and coordinates the campus comprehensive Quality and Patient Safety program, working collaboratively with the campus executive leadership team. The Manager provides oversight and ongoing performance monitoring and action planning on key standardized quality and safety metrics.

The Manager leads the efforts to develop and implement standardized plans, processes, structures, strategies and tools for planning and coordinating the daily operations of the Quality department. The position implements standard processes to help ensure continual compliance with regulations and standards set for by The Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies. The manager supports a comprehensive program to improve patient outcomes and minimize patient harm through the implementation of processes and systems that support a consistent, standardized culture of quality and safety.

The Manager oversees the standard work and day to day operations of the Quality team, influencing and facilitating aspects of ongoing performance improvement with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and team members. The position provides oversight of the campus's quality and patient safety staff and ensures that communication venues and committee forums are in place to establish mechanisms for reporting and information sharing. The position adopts high reliability principles in a data driven culture to elevate clinical quality performance to best in class.

The scope of oversight includes the work products / functions that includes Quality Standards, Patient Safety, Clinical Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, Accreditation and Regulatory Readiness, Risk Management and local Clinical Data Analytics / Abstraction / Reporting operations.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree- Nursing, clinical area or related healthcare field

Minimum Experience

3 years- PI methodology, Quality standards, Accreditation standards, Patient Safety and High reliaility principles and Data Analytics and Reporting. Experience in healthcare setting preferred

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

JOB RELATED LICENSURE - L010

Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Registered Nurse license or related healthcare clinical license required

Nationally recognized quality related certification (ie: CPHQ, PMP, CJCP, CPPS)

COMPETENCIES: * Safety Minded * University Engineering degree BSc or MSc * Automotive global requirements * IATF16949 auditor. IATF16949 & Customer specific requirements * Problem Solving skills - 8D approach and tools. * 10 - 15 years' experience in Automotive industry, Operations, Quality and/ or program management background.
