This position is responsible for directing all activities to define and execute the strategy for Atrium Health data governance. The leader is responsible for collaborating with facility executives, service line leaders, and operational managers. The leader of the Data Governance Office develops, recommends, and implements policies, procedures, and technologies in support of the protection of Atrium Health data. This position reports directly to the AVP of Enterprise Information Management and has several principle accountabilities as outlined below
Develop and implement enterprise wide Data Governance Strategy to include
Data Policy & Standards
Data Classification, Security, Retention, and Disposition
Master & Reference Data Management
Drive the implementation and maturity of Corporate Information Governance practices
Evaluate existing and emerging regulatory changes and risks and develop mitigation strategies
Form partnerships with the greater Atrium Health enterprise to gain adoption of data governance best practices.
Manage the software solutions that are used by the Data Governance Office and its customers.
Manage the Data Governance team and collaborate across Atrium Health to administer the data governance program.

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. This position is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation, and counseling. Must be available for on-call support on a regular basis. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred. Must have formal training in Information Systems Technology, Desktop applications, Software Development packages, programming languages, SQR, Crystal, Unix AIX. Candidates with primarily an educational background should have information systems employment experience of 4 years with the information systems technology mentioned above is preferred. Must be a service-oriented, team player. Must have experience in Health Care Industry minimum 2 years. Communicates proactively, cooperatively and constructively.
