Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager S02. This position is located in San Jose, CA.

The Systems Engineering Manager S02 is a dual-hat manager responsible for both section management (up to 20% of the time) and existing program responsibilities (80% or more of the time). Along with reporting into a program, the Section Manager is also a member of the NorCal Systems Engineering functional management organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform resource planning and staffing; staff development, including skills training and career support; performance management, including employee goal setting, annual reviews, and issues resolution

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of relevant work experience; or a Master's Degree in STEM and 8 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in STEM and 4 years of relevant work experience.

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

  • Airborne SIGINT experience.

  • Proven experience with supervision and leadership of a diverse group of engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline.

  • Experience in System Engineering in manned or unmanned airborne RF sensors and/or signal processing systems

  • Experience with planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract

  • Experience with Model Based systems engineering

  • Basic understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

The operations side of the role involves monitoring, tracking, upgrading, and automating the solutions we own.
