Job Description Details
Our company is searching for an experienced IT Software Engineering Manager who can lead order management application development teams. The order management systems include web, mobile and contact center applications that produce $11 Billion in global annual sales. The ideal candidate is able lead scrum teams in an agile environment following architectural best practices in the latest microservice virtual private and public cloud environments. The manager will be responsible for unifying multi-market order capture systems, defining global project roadmaps, and planning multi-million annual budgets and forecasts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides the technical oversight and leadership necessary for the team to accomplish work.
Provides input to financial and people resource plans for the area. Ensures resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical discipline.
Develops work plan and priorities for their area, based on objectives received.
Makes hiring recommendations.
Responsible for all performance-related activities, including performance reviews. Provides input to compensation decisions.
Develops portfolio roadmaps to convey the current and future state vision and status of their portfolios.
Resolves technical and business issues escalated from their team successfully. Appropriately escalates to their manager only issues of significant risk, sensitivity and impact on the business.
Responsible for system support and recovery
Assists in the development and presentation of various analyses to management (e.g., organizational, systems, feasibility, cost/benefit studies, implementation plans).
Manages the resolution of issues across the IT organization, partnering with their IT peers.
Successfully addresses people management issues on the team.
Ensures root cause analysis is completed and learnings are integrated into new or revised SOPs.
Manages conflicting priorities and allocations and escalates as appropriate.
Improves work procedures and processes for their area continually.
Partners with clients to identify technology requirements and provide solutions. Develops strong relationships with clients and team to develop solutions.
Is seen by business partners as a key resource to escalate problems and to receive guidance and complete solutions.
Communicates highly technical information to business partners and junior team members.
Leads the effort to engage external contract personnel.
May manage projects or initiatives, within their technical discipline. This typically includes:
Executing established plans for initiatives.
Ensuring resources and organization structure are in place and operating effectively.
Anticipating conflicting needs and proactively resolving them.
Assigns work, monitors work quality, reviews output and ensures that team members are equipped to successfully deliver the work of their area.

Education and Experience: Typical candidates will possess 6+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Advanced degree highly desirable.
