My client is a rapidly growing startup in the life sciences/healthcare sector located in the heart of NYC! They are exploding, and need to add top talent to their F A team.

They work hard, this is not the company for someone whom wants a 9-5 job, but you will be well rewarded, with amazing experience/exposure, bonus based on level between 15 - 25% (actually being paid out at 100% + for top performers) + equity. An exceptional Manager, Sn. Mgr. and/or Director of Financial Reporting.

Depending on candidate experience, they have flexibility on title/level. This is a brand new role to the team and will report into the VP. Here are a few of the Director of Financial Reporting responsibilities: preparation of financial reports including SEC 10-Q/10-K, quarterly financial statements, balance sheet, statement of operations, shareholders equity, cash flow and SOX controls.

The Director of Financial Reporting must be able to work in an extremely fast moving environment where processes can change as the company and team matures. Candidate Background: ? MUST have SEC experience. ? MUST have public accounting experience, B4 is highly preferred or top regional firms ? Will look at straight public accounting experience. A great way for you manager, senior manager, directors out of B4 to make that transition into the private/commercial sector. ? Will look at public/private backgrounds ? CPA is required ? Highly prefer startup experience and/or life sciences/healthcare ? Experience with a large ERP like Oracle, SAP and/or Hyperion is preferred. ? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Masters' degree always welcomed ? Minimum of 8+ years? experience The Director of Financial Reporting should have exceptional communications skills and the ability to work well in a dynamic team environment. He or she must be able to effectively collaborate with individuals both inside and outside the company. Position Overview The Manager/Senior Manager, Financial Accounting will be a key liaison between the New York FP&A / Brand finance teams and the onshore/offshore accounting teams, providing a combination of analytical, audit management, process improvement and key financial controls support, in addition to ad-hoc analyses as required by the CFO and VP of Finance. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities * Manage all aspects of the accounting monthly close process from a segment finance and control perspective, working closely with the onshore and offshore accounting teams at Ann Inc. and Ascena. * Responsible for explanations of all material P&L variances for sales, gross margin and SG&A, and working with corporate cross-functional expense owners to ensure all accruals have been correctly identified * Own monthly and quarterly results reporting and presentations for key constituents – Internal Audit, External Audit, Ascena Controllership and CFO. Provide assistance for 10K and 10Q reporting as needed * Maintain controls documentation, and develop processes to ensure all reported results are consistent across the various financial systems and tools (i.e. COGNOS, HFM, SAP etc.) and best practices are being followed * Own the audit management process for key variance testing and explanation * Assist the FP&A team with forecasting activities, including Budgets, Long Range Plans, monthly re-projections etc. * Manage and enhance reporting across the finance team, including monthly P&Ls, translation from ANN to Ascena chart of accounts, etc. * Manage enterprise financial systems and processes, as needed * Provide ad-hoc analyses for the CFO and the VP of FP&A as needed Position Requirements * BS in Accounting, required * Understanding of U.S. GAAP * 6-7 years of general accounting experience * 3-5 years of FP&A or related forecasting experience * Analytical thinker – ability to visualize objectives and evaluate alternative approaches * Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvement to business planning, forecasting and management reporting activities. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Outstanding oral and written communication skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
