This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Research Integrity Office. This includes serving as chief administrative and programmatic support for the Research Integrity Office's oversight committees including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (COIR), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The Mgr, Rsrch Integrity Office establishes and maintains research integrity/compliance systems, including policies, procedures, and training; sets the vision and goals for ensuring alignment with those of HMH Human Resource Protection Program (HRPP) and AAHRPP standards.

Responsibilities Oversees the daily activities and manages staff of the Research Integrity Office including the use of humans in research, use of animals in research, conflicts of interest, DSMB, and responsible conduct in research. Maintains accreditation standards and ensures metrics are collected to reflect standards.

Ensures records maintained in the electronic system are accurate and complete; responsible for compiling monthly reports for Director to review accuracy. Provides oversight and training in IRB policies and procedures to assigned IRB staff. Serves as an official designee as needed on the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Board (IBC). As a voting member of above listed committees, reviews assigned protocols and attends meetings.

Identifies needs and drafts guidelines and policies pertaining to research integrity/compliance. Coordinates the development and delivery of educational sessions for the research community on integrity/compliance policies and procedures, including the production of educational materials attending training sessions, and making classroom presentations. Serves as a resource and channel of communication for individuals reporting research integrity/compliance concerns.

Investigates allegations of non-compliance, as needed. Facilitates random, for-cause or committee requested audits of research activities to ensure quality control, compliance with regulations or IRB requirements, and ensures appropriate human subjects protections are followed/in-place. Recruits and interviews prospective board members, supervises training and orientation of new members to the technical and ethical and ethical literature, appropriate policy, statues, regulations, and duties as board members.

Ensure human research protection training is available and completed by investigators, key study personnel, the Institutional Signatory Official, and all staff who participate in the human subjects protection program. Evaluates workload for research boards and informs senior administration of adequate staffing levels and resources as per federal assurance requirements and amends budget accordingly. Serves a key role on the Network Research Compliance meeting, providing key information as to the metrics for both internal and external IRB's.

Assists Director with special projects as assigned to ensure excellence in upholding accreditation standards and implementing best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree is required Expert knowledge of compliance regulations in at least one area of research; demonstrated experience working within at least one additional compliance area other than the one required (mentioned earlier within this bullet). Experience and participation in investigations in compliance areas. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, leadership, team-building, writing, presentation and problem-solving skills.

Ability to accommodate and respond to shifting priorities and multiple, demanding projects, in a manner that is effective and efficient. Minimum of five-year's experience working in the field of research compliance/integrity or an equivalent combination of education and experience which totals five years or more. Ability to learn Federal and State regulations, administrative procedures, and effectively communicate these regulations to faculty, staff and students, both verbally and in writing.

This position will provide high-level support to the academics and research campus leadership team, primarily located at the Roche Campus in Nutley/Clifton, NJ. Will oversee financial operations including but not limited to, budgets, monitoring monthly financial performance, financial planning for campus projects, etc. for the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, Center for Discovery and Innovation and all research programs on the site. Responsibilities 1. Directs the development of operating budgets. Evaluates current expense trends, research budget discrepancies and anticipates new expenditures. Evaluates departmental budgets with on-site department directors/managers. Manages budget education sessions, analyzes and validates budget assumptions. Submits draft budgets to Corporate Finance Team to be loaded into budget system. 2. Prepares detailed financial analysis and trend reports including FTE, supplies expense and statistical data to support strategic goals and targets set by Network Leadership and Corporate Finance Team. 3. Supports on-site executive leadership in completing forecasts of new programs, financial proformas, business plans and assists with gathering financial information for new grant and/or clinical trial applications, where necessary. 4. Participates in following internal committees, such as FTE/Position Control Committee, Capital Committee, and other meetings, as necessary. 5. For monthly financial close process at each hospital campus, researches revenue and expense variances and provides guidance related to areas of strength and weakness to the Corporate Finance Team. 6. Prepares and provides to the Site Operations Administrator on a monthly basis a package/report that includes detailed financial and statistical information on the School of Medicine and research programs. 7. Tracks and works with on-site executive leadership team to monitor and release Foundation funds for projects/initiatives around the Roche campus based on donor intent, in accordance with accounting standards. 8. Acts as a subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Grants Module and other systems related to the academics and research service lines. 9. Assists in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for the CDI, Research and School of Medicine. Reinforces positive results and continually strives towards performance improvement. 10. Provides information and/or coordination, where necessary, for the campus, relative to tax returns, construction projects, annual statistics for marketing materials, surveys, and other lists, support for annual external audits, liaison for annual or periodic inventories, and research projects. 11. Initiates project work with Corporate Finance Team in other projects, including leading due diligence, development of feasibility studies, valuation, financial disclosures, and other related duties as assigned. 12. Directs and disseminates financial reports within the organization to aid corporate decision making and strategic planning. Ensures reports reflect accurate and up-to-date information and are distributed on a timely basis. Acts as a liaison for on-site staff and provides support for systems conversions, upgrades, etc. 13. Acts as a liaison for on-site staff to educate and ensure staff understand Network-wide and Hospital-site policies. 14. Conducts financial planning and analysis to interpret trends, variances from budgets, and variances from standards and provides advice and counsel to staff consistent with established financial policy. Makes recommendations based on these analysis. 15. Develops and monitors internal control systems to safeguard assets. 16. Assures the absolute financial integrity of hospital's financial reporting data. 17. Actively participates in development of financial and statistical reports/charts/graphs/analysis within Network business intelligence reporting system. 18.
