Opportunity for an experienced RF/M Engineering Manager to lead our RF/M Design team at our Advanced Microelectronics Centers (AMC) in West Caldwell, NJ. Mercury offers state-of-the-art design and manufacturing capabilities to help drive innovations in RF and Microwave technologies that can be leveraged to deliver critical new capabilities for the defense market.
Responsibilities: The RF/M Engineering Manager directs a team of product design engineers in three key areas: technical proposal preparation, product design & development and internal research & development. The products are predominantly Integrated Microwave Assemblies with some digital embedded control and memory functions. The manager will plan and execute development projects following an established stage-gate process through program-based integrated product teams (IPTs). This person will be responsible for meeting product technical, cost and schedule objectives and delivering a sound documentation package to the manufacturing organization.
The manager is responsible for selecting and training new personnel to insure that appropriate and adequate skill sets are constantly available to support the needs of the RF/M business. These include established engineering core competencies, communication skills and root cause analysis. He or she will team with peer-group managers across the other RFM sites to share technology and techniques among teams.
Using a wide variety of existing and developmental technologies the engineering manager shall support the bid & proposal process with technical solutions to customer requirements including trade studies, detailed models and simulation as well as cost/benefit analysis. The engineering team will provide support to production when needed as directed by the engineering manager in cooperation with operations. Responsible for RF/M design and is hands-on with the team throughout the development process including schematic design, layout, DVT and optimization.
Responsible for overall hardware performance and reliability. Required Competencies: Strong background in RF receiver/transmitter converter development, performance criteria, measurement techniques and test instrumentation Ability to follow standard practices and procedures Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Proven track record interacting with/presenting to senior management Highly detailed oriented with strong prioritization skills High level of energy with the ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities Analytical and problem solving skills Must be results-driven Prerequisites: 10+ yrs exp, BSEE or equivalent , MSEE preferred Prior experience having led or managed an RF/M Engineering team required as well as prior hands-on RFM design experience in the Receiver/Transmitter area.
Minimum/Basic Job Qualifications: BSEE or equivalent 10 years minimum demonstrated experience in RF / Microwave integrated product design
