Job Description

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Manager Product Support 2 to provide objective-oriented direction and work assignment to team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Manages a segment of a program or a function with responsibility for the direct supervision/management of the staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality, full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a mid-size technical services-type contract

  • Full working knowledge of procedures and practices

  • Oversees projects and task assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees. Becomes involved only when required to assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems. May accomplish results through lower level supervisor or exempt employees

  • Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management: Interprets and executes policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Recommends modifications to operating policies

  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget

  • Accomplishes results through lower-level subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments

  • Functions as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems

  • Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal external representatives concerning specifics operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in logistics or business and 6 years of related logistics experience. In lieu of formal education, high school diploma or GED and 10 years of applicable experience in Logistics.

  • Must be have leadership experience in aircraft maintenance, support equipment maintenance, or supply logistics

  • Must be have knowledge and experience using and following AFI 21-101

  • Must have a current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to maintain.

  • Must be able to be granted program access within 365 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience using and following AFI 21-103

  • Established an aircraft maintenance and supply organization

  • Experience using SAP, TCMAX.

Manufacturing manager responsibilities include: cost, schedule, quality and technical performance of a specific unit or work package. Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. Analysis & interpretation. Full working knowledge of procedures and practices. Relates more to specific job function. Makes decisions relating to accomplishment of daily work responsibilities. Monitors work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt employees on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required. May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, on-going operational tasks of organizational groups. Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management: Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Basic Qualifications: * Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. * Candidate must have scheduling and budgets, affordability, risks and opportunities management, and on time delivery experience. * Previous leadership experience in the aerospace manufacturing or operations/manufacturing environment. * Must have an at least active DoD secret clearance - one with an investigation within the past five years.
