Provide leadership for staff in this hospital based four operating room department performing approximately 400 inpatient and outpatient surgeries per month. Services include pre-surgical evaluation team, pre-op, OR, PACU and Sterile Processing Department.

As Manager, Patient Care (RN) in Surgery at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista, you will create and maintain an environment that assures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Be responsible for the daily operations of assigned nursing unit, including creating and managing staffing plans and ensuring appropriate equipment and resources are available to staff to do their job.

Additionally, you will ensure appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology (Teletracking) and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge. Ensure the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care. Be accountable for meeting operational budgets for assigned department(s).

This is a Full Time, Manager position located at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista.


Required Education/Experience/Specialized

Skills:
  • Associate's degree plus five years applicable clinical experience, two of which in a leadership role.

  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.

  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.

  • Graduate of an accredited program

Required Certification/Registration:

  • Maintains current California RN license.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification

and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit.

Skills/Certification:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree or MSN preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred if applicable.

  • RN experience in a hospital Main OR.

  • Epic working experience.

  • LI-SH1

Position: Director Patient Care Reports to: Regional Director of Operations Job Description/Requirements: As Director Patient Care you will: * Be responsible for providing overall strategic and operational leadership to the branch office and field staff. * Be responsible for business development initiatives and managing all functions necessary to ensure operational, service, and business goals are aligned with company and division business objectives. * Manage the overall operations of the branch office. * Full P&L responsibilities: revenue generation, expense management impacting bottom line contribution, tracking and follow-up of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to meet budget expectations * Responsible for achieving and maintaining exemplary standards in the care of our clients and our referral sources * Adherence to applicable company policies and procedures, and all applicable compliance requirements for the branch * Responsible for scheduling and documenting QAPI meetings per regulation * Responsible for implementing corporate initiatives and team building within the branch * Oversee daily operational functions of branch office. * Responsible for oversight and day-to-day activities of all office staff, to include recruiting, hiring, assessment activity, staffing / scheduling, risk management requirements, payroll / billing requirements, and all compliance and human resource needs * Responsible for the overall quality and depth of the Care Partner pool * Responsible for the overall service levels we provide to our clients and referral sources * Communicate procedural changes to office staff and ensures compliance * Responsible for the coding and approval of branch office Accounts Payable activities * Oversee management of petty cash and office funds to ensure proper handling * Support business development initiatives for the Care Center * Support sales staff in their community activities as needed * Ensure compliance in all contractual requirements * Consistently meet or exceed service level expectations of contractual referral partners. * Develop service programs to meet the needs of our key facility referral partners * Responsible for ensuring all cross referral opportunities within the branch are identified and sourced appropriately * Performs special projects and other duties as assigned * Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including, but not limited to the * Compliance Program: Code of Conduct, HIPAA and Documentation Standards. * Maintain a commitment to the values and mission of AccentCare.
