JOB SUMMARY

This position provides management of the assigned areas of Radiology involving planning, organizing, directing and controlling Radiology operations for key areas comprising a significant portion of patient volume, revenue and personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

Current registration with the ARRT with an ODH Radiologic License and a graduate of an accredited program, or ARDMS or CNMT and a graduate of an accredited program, or 4-5 years of healthcare management experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Must have at least an Associate degree in Healthcare or Business Management with 2 years of healthcare management experience. Bachelor's degree and/or CRA certification is preferred and may be required once employed.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Current registration with the ARRT with an ODH Radiologic License and a graduate of an accredited program, or ARDMS, or CNMT and a graduate of an accredited program, or 4-5 years of healthcare experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Must have at least a Field of Study:

Heathcare or Business Management with 2 years healthcare management experience, CRA certification and may be required once employed. Considerable knowledge of all aspects of diagnostic radiology operations and strong interpersonal skills. 3-5 years manger/ team leader in radiology department including supervision of various work groups.

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

Enrollment in or completion of Baccalaureate Degree in business or health care field. Strong knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, organizational psychology, accounting principles and financial operations/budgeting. Experience in management of non-technical aspects of radiology (Support Services).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Manages all aspects of major clinical sections in Imaging/ Radiology: Oversees, plans and organizes efforts of respective areas; recommends and implements positive changes to any/ all areas; establishes and maintains vendor relationships; evaluates and ensures performance of vendor products, future enhancements and maintenance contracts, prepares short and long range planning for facilities and equipment; advises Director regarding appropriate and cost effective purchases; develops department policies and procedures; and works with radiologists and attending physicians regarding services and quality of products produced.

Supervises related management groups including: hiring, training, evaluation, goal-setting, policy development and implementation, and establishing overall standards of quality. Develops innovative programs for maintaining well-qualified, hard-to-recruit staff. Works cooperatively with other clinical managers on various related projects.

Develops work processes assuring all processes work and produces timely results with consistent, high quality: creates new systems to streamline workflows and allow consistency with radiology business plan: ensures consistency of efforts between sections of Radiology; and ensures cooperation and appropriate cross training of other skills in other areas.

Assists Director as directed in department planning, organizing, directing and controlling; facilitates inter and intra communications; runs meetings as necessary; makes presentations in and out of the department as needed; serves on committees; and represents other Medical Imaging Managers or Director in his/her absence.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific Vision abilities required by this job include close Vision, distance Vision, and color Vision. Work environment while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of radiation. The noise level in the Work environment is usually moderate.
