The Impact You'll Make

Lam's Manager of Training Delivery loves to learn and teach, collaborates well with others, shares knowledge, and enjoys creating processes to ensure an enhanced learner experience. Success in the role requires strong program management and organizational skills; being self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to seek answers and drive solutions; and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels with local and global partners.

In this role, you and your team will deliver training content to new and existing Lam Manufacturing employees. You will have an opportunity to combine a passion for teaching with leading and developing Technical Instructors on the Tualatin Manufacturing Training team. You will also be a critical part of the Training Leadership Team and will participate in the development of team strategy and long-term direction. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Technical Training in Tualatin.

The successful candidate is an experienced people leader who is familiar with executing, and facilitating, technical training programs. In addition, candidates must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, have a passion for learning, and be committed to developing and retaining top Technical Trainer talent at Lam.

What You'll Do

  • Engage as a member of the Training Leadership Team to help develop team strategy and enhance collaboration across the team.

  • Manage a team of technical trainers supporting Tualatin Manufacturing programs.

  • Monitor performance of instructors and provide coaching to develop and advance their skills.

  • Create, and maintain, a trainer capacity planning model to ensure facilitation coverage is available to support training programs and proactively develop bench strength amongst team members.

  • Create, and manage the execution of, standardized onboarding and upskilling processes for onboarding new trainers and continuing to develop existing training staff.

  • Routinely deliver instructor-led classroom trainings, to stay sharp on content, delivery skills, and to continue to understand the perspective of our learners.

  • Work with the global Manufacturing Academy to provide feedback on training materials for future improvements to technical training content, lab exercises, and accompanying materials used across the factory network.

  • Engage with training team members on projects to drive process efficiency and technical accuracy for instructor led programs.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent is required with 4-6 years of supervisory experience.

  • Minimum 5+ years of learning & development experience in a manufacturing, sales, or customer service environment

  • Capable of inspiring trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal team and external partners.

  • Ability to respond quickly to changes and urgent requests and to adjust approached to align with business needs.

  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows based business computers

  • Ability to work onsite in Tualatin, OR

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
