Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Manager, Maintenance & Inside Processes manages and assists in the completion of day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, CNC machines, production lines, ovens, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance. The position supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery.

Additionally, the Manager, Maintenance & Inside Processes manages Plating and Heat Treat providing service, support and supervision for employees working in the following departments; Wastewater, Chemical Lab, Plating, Lube, Cleaning and Heat Treat departments. Plans and organizes day to day workflow and consistently meet quality and production standards. Responsibilities include meeting customer service goals in the area of quality and on-time delivery, training, developing, and monitoring members of the workforce, assuring compliance to company safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures. Focus on process improvement, kaizen mentality, and implement a long-range growth and capabilities plan.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedules and directs all maintenance personnel. Coordinates maintenance schedules.

Coordinates the training of Maintenance Personnel. Participates in hiring, termination and disciplinary action of department personnel.

Collaborates with other departments to resolve maintenance problems and to keep manufacturing equipment operating with the least amount of unscheduled downtime.

Reviews various reports and coordinates with the Production / Plant Manager to review problems and to ensure corrective actions are taken.

Establishes priorities to minimize downtime and increase productivity.

Responsible for the maintenance of all plant equipment.

Maintains a high level of integrity and addresses issues with a level head and shows good leadership.

Maintains a preventive and predictive maintenance programs on all machinery, equipment, etc., with documentation and records necessary to support the program.(i.e., our current AMMS system currently deployed.(Advanced Maintenance Management System).

Coordinates maintenance department inventory to be certain an adequate supply of material and repair parts are in stock to reduce production downtime due to breakdown of equipment.

Maintains numerous contacts with manufactures' representatives to keep abreast of latest developments and techniques in maintenance and repair fields.

Investigates constantly new sources of supply to acquire the best price, delivery, and quality.

Coordinates and directs general labor operations to insure the facility is constantly in a clean and safe condition.

Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the plant.

Enforce safety rules daily.

Actively intervene to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions.

Ensure that all accidents including first aid are reported.

Follow all safety guidelines established by the facility on a daily basis.

Maintains safe and healthful working conditions and ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed. This will include a lockout & tag out program.

Conduct weekly inspections of the workplace to identify, evaluate and control workplace hazards. Increase the frequency of the weekly inspections until departmental standards are met.

Manager, Inside Processes:

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for supervising 1st and 2nd shift employees.

Update work instructions for processes/ new equipment. Train all employees to the updated work instructions.

Plan the day-to-day work activities and consistently strive to meet safety, quality and production standards.

Maintain necessary inventory levels for plating and order supplies. Minimize waste and maximize cash flow in the area of supply inventory.

Train and develop Lead Personnel to cover the tasks during Supervisor's absences.

Capable of scheduling plating of compatible parts to maximize utilization of tanks.

Maintain customer satisfaction - both internally and externally

Actively review Quality data by defect type and manufacturing process and take action to improve.

Effectively communicate with management and shift leads regarding job priorities, manage based on the daily dispatch list.

Inspect parts before and after plating to identify potential defects and assure overall quality of product meets the requirements.

Work with direct team, QA, engineers, purchasing, test lab, production, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and drive positive change.

Evaluate problems associated with the plating process or equipment and implement corrective actions.

Provide oversight to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and clean. Keep plating areas well organized.

Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.

Implement, enforce process procedures, safety and company policy.

Understand and perform ampere calculations for product to be plated.

Responsible for reporting all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to Safety Director/Management/HR.

Maintain adequate knowledge of safety-related programs, plans and procedures affecting the employees and respective work areas.

Review current JHAs for each task performed by employees in the Plating Department and make updates where needed.

Provide information and training to ensure that employees are aware of the hazards associated with the tasks they perform, and the selection and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure its proper use on a continuous basis.

Ensure employees follow all applicable work instructions, process bulletins and safety procedures. Generate records of all safety training sessions with employees, including JHAs, work instructions and toolbox talks

Assist the Chemical Engineer/Chemist to maintain the established process controls for the chemistry involving the following process tasks:

Electroplate Cadmium, Nickle Strike, Nickel

Organic Coating

Dry lube

Aluminum Coating

Cetyl

Dyes

Paraffin

Metal Etch Operations

ANNRO (Ti)

Ferric Chloride (SST)

Chromate Conversion Coating

Verifies processes and procedures are followed to maintain Monogram Aerospace Fasteners NADCAP certifications and fully participates in the periodic certification audits.

Coordinates with outside service companies to keep equipment calibrated and in compliance with all internal and NADCAP requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Basic knowledge of acid/base chemistry and of chemical safety

Understand basic principles of electroplating

Comprehend Safety Data Sheets and Technical Bulletins

Must understand and comply with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations

Ability to train and direct employees on the Spill Response Team

Maintain production, safety and environmental records

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education and/or Experience:

Must have minimum 5 years of experience as a Plating/Heat Treat Supervisor, or equivalent knowledge and experience in plating and heat treat operations.

Bachelor's degree required. BS degree preferred in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Professional attitude and approach to doing the job is required. Must be a team player.

Good verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to interact with customers, regulatory inspectors, vendors, and senior management.
