Lead a maintenance staff in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the facility equipment, real property, and grounds.
Leads by example. Makes good decisions.
Provide leadership and technical expertise to a management team consisting of Maintenance Coaches and MRO Buyers.
Hold responsibility for a weekly mechanical parts, facility repair, contract services, and shipping budget.
Possess a strong mechanical aptitude that will enable the plant to operate an effective predictive, preventive, and emergency equipment repair program. Makes complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and understandable.
Provide support to operations and sanitation, ensure on-time start-ups, maximum mechanical and operational up-time, and consistent or improving product quality and capacity.
Performs short and long term planning to include at the minimum 30-60-90 day plans.
Manages the mechanical workforce schedule. Ensure adequate personnel manning to support operational requirements.
Manages within budget. Know the strengths and limitations of people.
Effectively communicate with all departments to include operations, sanitation, administrative, and plant and corporate leadership.
Manage budgets on a cost per pound basis. Tracks labor and material spending to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
Education: Engineering or engineering technology degree from four-year college or university that has been accredited by the Department of Education preferred. Optional: High school diploma plus three (3) years of maintenance experience in the food or related industry.
