An opportunity exists within the Command & Control, Radar and Mobile Sensors Software department in Tewksbury, MA for a Section Manager position.
The Command & Control, Radar and Mobile Sensors Software department contributes to the success of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) by providing NoDoubt software solutions throughout the product lifecycles of some of IDS' most rapidly transportable world class radar, missile, command & control, and homeland defense systems. The department is a critical source of support for a variety of new technology initiatives and internal research and development (R&D) efforts. Some of the programs supported by the departments include Qatar ADOC, NATO ACCS, 3DELRR, Zumwalt, DBR, and NASAMS.
The Command & Control, Radar and Mobile Sensors Software department Section Manager will provide guidance, leadership, and management to a section of 15 to 20 engineers. The candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department, employing his/her leadership, presence and influence skills, and fostering team work and interdependent execution.
The Section Manager will participate in goal setting, interim performance reviews, department ranking sessions, interviewing new candidates, and provide recommendations for staff promotions.
The successful candidate will participate in a technical/lead role on our software development programs.
Responsible for the sustainment, assessment and development of the section
Ensure section members adhere to Raytheon policy, vision, values and goals
Communications flow-down to the section
Performance development including collecting and providing performance feedback to section members.
Goal development with section members
Career and job assignment mentoring
Technical leadership in software development, integration, or test.
10+ years' experience in technical software design and development on defense software development programs
Experience in software development using C, C++, Java
Experience in functional or program leadership role
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Proven skills in leadership and management
High energy, self starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with subordinates, customers, and other Raytheon organizations
Technical software skills and experience on defense software development programs
Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Prior experience in functional or program leadership role
Prior software development experience in Radar, Command & Control or Mobile sensors (3DELRR, DBR, Zumwalt, NATO ACCS, Qatar ADOC, etc.)
Software cost estimation experience
