Job Description:

The F-15 Program Operations Manager is the single Operations point of contact for the F-15 Production Program Director, Product line Director, program customers, program managers, and other functional managers and is responsible for successful Operations execution within this program. This position has the responsibility to focus on all tasks associated with Operations for the F-15 product line within the Secure Sensor Solutions (S3) Mission Area. These tasks include, but are not limited to: manufacturing plan creation; capacity analysis; Cost Reduction activities, data mining and metrics management; recurring and non-recurring cost BOE and engage in F-15 domestic and international proposals and Rationale development/analysis; Manufacturing Readiness Assessment; creation of Manufacturing Maturation Plans (MMP); identification and planning of operations related investment required to achieve Price To Win (PTW) and MMP; Capital deployment planning and management; influencing design to achieve cost and schedule targets through DFMA/DTC/DTUPC and producability studies; Transition To Production planning; transition planning of existing work to other factories. The responsibilities of this role are a key enabler of the product line developing new products and supporting all activities with delivering product to our Customers. This position helps develop the product line vision and strategy with the Program Director and works with SAS Consolidated Manufacturing Centers to ensure smooth transition to production and profitable execution of the product line's programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Business Focal Point at Program Levels

  • Leading F-15 operations cost reduction efforts/initiatives

  • Manage Metrics and provide detail analytic and improvement recommendations

  • Business Forecast Communications to Factories; PROP coordination

  • Business Area Capital Forecast and Execution

  • Business/Cross Program Inventory AR Tracking to Completion for Internal Suppliers

  • Responsible to Assure Product Platforms Align with Operations Strategies

  • Engages Functional Expertise within Operations to Develop Proposals - From Factories to Facilities

  • Timely Gate 4 Win Strategy Flow Down to Factories/Operations Performers

  • Engaged in Product Development, Producibility, Testability and How and Where to Make

  • Develops Capital Investment Requirements to Produce New Products

  • Supports Engineering for Development Work (Lab/RSIL/space)

  • Focal Point for Operations in New Product Development and Launch to Manufacturing

  • Assure all Requirements and Plans are Communicated to the Operations Team Members

  • Focal Point for Operations when New Requirements Bring Changes to Existing Products that Require Development

  • Provides Leadership for Operations through New Product Upgrade Production Readiness Review Gate 10

  • Collaborate with Operations Program Managers (OPM) to execute Production Readiness Review Gate 10

This role reports into the F 15 Sr. Program Operations Manager and sits on the F-15 Production program leadership team. This position will be based in El Segundo, CA.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, or other related function with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.

  • Ability to adeptly use influence without authority in a matrix organizational structure

  • Experience with EACs

  • Proficient in data mining utilizing system and Microsoft office tools

  • Proficient in SAP systems

  • Understanding of partnering between program management and Operations/manufacturing

  • Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance

  • U.S. citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:

  • Manufacturing factory experience

  • Experience with IPDS Gate Reviews

  • Transition to Production experience

  • Knowledge of program management practices

  • Six Sigma Specialist or higher

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math); Master's Degree desired

We invite you to consider joining us as an engineering Section Manager (SM). Our teams are developing the next generation of space-based imaging systems. We would like to hear from you if you have leadership experience with a technical background in EO/IR or RF technology development for Space systems. The section manager performs direct line management activities for 10-20 systems engineers including managing job assignments, performance evaluations, career development, technical skill assessments and development for each section member. The SM is also a key technical contributor to the programs supported by the section, as well as a central contributor to new business development activities. The candidate will be experienced in the EO/IR or RF based space sensor or system development common system engineering practices and procedures, earned value management system (EVMS), cost estimating and proposal writing. The SM ensures two-way communication for section members, serves as a liaison to the programs ensuring technical, cost and schedule parameters, as well as overseeing section member job assignments, performance and recognition. Roles and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include coordinating program staffing needs and optimizing staffing across skills and experience to meet demand of mission area. In addition, the SM will team with Department Manager in the execution of Center and SAS engineering goals and will be expected to participate in Department and Center level meetings. The SM must have demonstrable expertise in space systems, systems engineering, production support, and leadership experience. Section Managers will engage regularly with program IPTLs in producing EACs and proposals and will facilitate the department/center level approvals of such. Section managers will engage regularly with the Program Area Chief Engineer (PACE) to communicate and coordinate changes in staffing needs. Section managers will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the technical roadmaps for the capabilities offered by their section. Organization and strong communication skills are required for frequent interactions with operations, chief engineers, department managers and program managers to ensure proper support to the Space Systems mission area.
