Strategic Supply Chain Manager

Job Description

This supply chain leader will manage and implement strategic activities for BAE Systems Survivability and Targeting Solutions Operations on new business captures. With guidance from the Supply Chain Capture Director, the selected individual will primarily support the highest priority (Focus 25) new business captures early in the capture process (Stage 2-3) and further plan strategic Supply Chain Management activities to be executed after proposal and upon award.

This leader will be responsible for conducting new supplier risk and opportunity assessments, generating and negotiating supplier business agreements, performing supplier relationship building, gathering supplier technology and capability assessments, long range planning to support Integrated Business Plan supply chain requirements, strategic supply chain tool and resource generation, collaboration on Cost Burn Down activities, early engagement with engineering to refine requirements and broaden potential supply base, gathering and analyzing metrics on supplier performance, and collaboration with subcontract, operations, and supply chain management professionals to increase the successful implementation of sourcing strategies on pursuits and programs.

This role will bring subject matter expertise to proposal and campaign teams to increase capture Probability of Win (Pwin) prior to proposal submission and solid supply chain performance throughout program execution. Understanding the pursuit, customer, partners, and competitors, are essential in developing strong win and execution strategies. Successful strategy deployment will include working with capture team and supplier partners to developing supply chain strengths as discriminating factors into the winning proposal by leveraging best practices as well as identifying innovative solutions.

The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work with engineering to determine the best internal or external sourcing solutions in consideration of Technical Requirements, Designing to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) and Price To Win (PTW) for allocated material spend. These solutions shall be aligned with Operations and Supplier Partnerships vision to enable successful transition to production. The selected candidate shall facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliance to policies and emerging industrial requirements including but not limited to Small Business Participation, Supply Chain Assurance (ITAR, Cyber Security, Corporate Responsibility), and Quality Requirements (AS9145, AS6500).

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to yield total picture supply chain solutions

Varied background Preferred experience in major captures, production and development programs, subcontracts, procurement, and strategic sourcing

Excellent relationship / interpersonal skills on supply side; demonstrated ability to foster and grow relationships with supplier executives

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work with incomplete information (vision)

Industry knowledge of Aerospace & Defense supply chain

Participate in ITT (Intent to Team) discussions and Strategic Partnering Decisions with the Business Area

Senior Leadership Team and Electronic Systems Leadership Team

VIEW JOBS 1/8/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-07T00:00 BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Operations Program Manager to oversee the Advanced Capability Program consisting of an Opto-Electrical Module that is transitioning into a production environment. The program is transitioning into a production state with a brand new fully integrated factory for assembly, test, and inspection of the product excluding Environmental Stress and Screening tests, which occur at a different facility at rates from four to six per year with a complex build and lengthy cycle time. This role will be to take full responsibility of the development program with a 6 month knowledge transfer from the current OPM who oversaw the program through the development phase. Primary responsibilities are shown below: * Cost Account Manager for Operations on the Ad-Cap programs. Manages Operations performance against the baseline program plan by monitoring quality, schedule, and cost performance of all Operations functions assigned to a program * Cost Account Manager for Operations for the remainder (4 to 6 months) of the NRE effort required to move the current factory from Canal Street, Nashua, NH to Hudson, NH inclusive of the stand-up of additional test equipment and factory equipment. * Provides a "single point of contact" between Operations Team and the Program Office for providing program status and resolving problems. Presents Operations status to Customer, Program Management, and/or Operations Management as required * Cross functional lead responsible for ensuring the factory, technical operations team, and supply chain teams properly support the production program * Interfaces with the appropriate organization within Operations to ensure any changes which will impact assigned tasks have been appropriately communicated and addressed. * Ensures that Operations provides a competitive proposal that is accurate, supportable, on time, and within the budget constraints defined by the Proposal Manager for any new follow on production orders * Promotes a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting various phases of the program efforts * Responsible for all Operations metrics on the program and is overall CAM for a Cost Plus Incentive Fee Program * Utilize all the tools available to drive a Zero Defect culture throughout the team (Root Cause Corrective Action, Corrective Action Review Board, Kaizen Events and Projects for Green and Black Belts) * Responsible for driving the Supply Chain Strategy and management of the Supply Base Quality through the Supplier Surveillance Strategy for the program * Performs other related duties as required BAE Systems Hudson NH
