External Job Description

Supervises a team of industrial engineers in the Field Industrial Engineering department, supporting all key contracts/programs. This team responsible for supporting Continuous Improvement activities, process changes, process consistency, and new tool/process deployment for Manufacturing or Assembly operations across NNS.

Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.

Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies.

Reviews work for adequacy in meeting objectives. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Frequent contacts with personnel at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal/external representatives concerning specifics operations.

This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as dynamic leadership skills needed to influence change in a complex work environment. Must have strong project management and financial management skills.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A MS in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Industrial, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering degree is preferred. A MBA or MS in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience is preferred. Candidate should have experience in shipbuilding and overhaul construction, production, or manufacturing.

Responsibilities: * Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and management of the Company's Section 404 processes including scope review, process documentation and identification, testing, and evaluation of effectiveness of key controls; * Follow up on the implementation of management's action plans to address any identified control gaps * Manage and update key control database; * Assist in communication of 404 status, developments, methodologies and other matters with/to the Company's external auditors; * Use technology to continually improve team work flow and testing approaches; * Stay abreast of new accounting/auditing pronouncements and standards to gain an understanding of their impact on the Company's 404 process; * Monitor and update corporate accounting policies; * Participate in external reporting and ensure public disclosure is complete and accurate; * Participate in special projects as needed. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience. Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
