Job Description
The position will perform the following duties:
- Manages a staff of Sales Representatives to maximize sales and gross profit
- Leads, trains, educates, develops and meets standard of performance.
- Possesses extensive product knowledge.
- Generates product sales to new and existing customer base through marketing and skills set.
- Interfaces with all levels of the company, customers and their company management or owners, brokers and manufacturer representatives.
- Tracks sales progress, obtains sales/production goals, and determines pricing/marketing strategies at appropriate profit margin levels.
- Effectively manages personnel and related disciplinary issues.
- Mentors and leads others in the performance of their duties in accordance with applicable laws and within company policy and procedures.
- Develops interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.
- Must live in selling district
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
2 + years of foodservice sales management and or restaurant management operations experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- Must live within selling territory - Southwest Houston
Preferred Qualifications
Post high school education, i.e. culinary training, AS/BS degree in business management, culinary arts or related field
3 -5 years Managing a foodservice sales team or related managerial work experience
2 + years Foodservice distribution industry
Sales systems experience i.e. online order entry, sales metrics dashboard, web-based customer tools/systems Culinary, procurement, vendor/supplier and/or beverage sales related experience in foodservice industry
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is highly preferred
