POSITION SUMMARY

The Spectrum Curriculum Development Manager will oversee the work of a team of instructional design specialists.

In this role you will also contribute to the design and development of training materials using multiple modalities (e-Learns, ILT, etc.) suited to the various needs of the Inbound Sales & Retention business unit.

A key objective of this role is to seek opportunities to collaborate, leverage existing content, and deliver consistent training to affect positive customer experiences. You will have the opportunity to work in partnership with the other Learning and Development teams including Customer Operations, Field Service, Enterprise, and Leadership.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

  • Lead design and development of Sales New Hire and Leadership training; serve as creative and planning resource to internal customers and training directors

  • Manage design and integration of courses into a comprehensive curriculum; ensure each course can be modularized and marketed to different employee groups as needed

  • Lead the development of innovative programs that increase customer satisfaction and generate revenue

  • Collaborate with other Managers to balance workload among the design specialists

  • Manage and direct design and development work of instructional design specialists as needed

  • Mentor and coach a team of design specialists

  • Follow a standard intake process to acknowledge client requests for training, engaging with subject matter experts, connecting regularly with sponsors and facilitating comprehensive curriculum reviews for both new programs and regularly for existing content

  • Establish and maintain partnership with Delivery team managers and trainers to capture feedback, create co-ownership and trust, and ensure that curriculum is delivered as designed

  • Keep abreast of current learning and performance strategies, delivery methods,and techniques

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of various instructional design methodologies and systems

  • Knowledge of Storyline and Captivate

  • Call Center training experience a plus

  • Demonstrated capability of supporting high volume, with frequently shifting priorities

  • Experience measuring and evaluating training initiatives

  • Expertise in team-building, relationship building, facilitation and presentation

  • Show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities to meet target dates for implementation

  • Lead and manage others in person and virtually

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, Business Administration or related field required

  • Specialized training in instructional design methodologies

Related Work Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of StoryLine, Captivate and other e-learning design software
  • 5 years
  • Instructional design experience
  • 3 years
  • Management of Instructional Designers both in person and virtually
  • 2 years
  • Project management experience
  • Organizational development/change initiatives

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of cable television products and services
