The Central Planning Manager is responsible for optimizing a designated Supply Planning Network by overseeing associated planning department, processes, systems, cadence, and analytics to drive cross-functional collaboration; capture key business and supply planning insights; and create integrated, aligned, stable, and agile supply and inventory plans with the sites to efficiently meet the business' service level targets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages designated planning network team which consists of Site Planners & Site Buyers and will be collaborating closely with the Site Plant Manager and Schedulers.

  • Optimizing Designated Supply Planning Network working with cross functional Business and Supply Chain stakeholders within a weekly cadence to create supply plans to ensure delivery of products to customers within targeted service levels; examine performance metrics and escalated "Exceptions messages" to prioritize planning issues/concerns and countermeasures; monitor progress and measure performance results to achieve Current and Future KPI Targets, analysis and resolve systemic issues; monitor execution against plan for manufacturing and RM procurement or Packaging and Component/Label procurement or RM or, escalates when needed, and modifies system accordingly.

  • Uses Oracle ASCP to optimize the constrained Plans (Lead Time and Capacity based) and oversees firming plans based on Time and Capacity constraints; 'Managing Exceptions' with the Site & HQ Bulk, Finished Goods, Raw Material, Component, Label Planners, Operational Leads and relevant Businesses; maintaining realistic dates in ASCP.

  • Conducts Root Cause analysis of "Planning Issues/Risks" via quantitative analysis, gathering business insights from cross-functional business stakeholders, developing remedial countermeasures and tracking their impact.

  • Leads the S&OP planning activities regarding the assigned Planning Network to review with Supply Chain executive leadership, including Supply, Capacity, & Inventory Plans, Planning performance metrics/KPIs, Risks (Short-term/Long-term), Impact, & Operational & Systemic Countermeasures.

  • Applies expertise to the development of the Oracle solution with external consultants and maintains that expertise regarding the future processes, policies, operations and system functionality within the assigned planning solution.

  • Ensures the department successfully "adopts" the Oracle driven Supply Planning Solution and aligns Processes, Cadence, Analytics/Reporting, and Organization accordingly and acts as coordinator and 'filter' for later post-production enhancement requests.

  • Leads Data Maintenance to ensure all data is accurately updated and maintained using provided analytic tools.

  • Leads the execution of "Forward Thinking" continuous improvements which combines applying "Best Practices" while pragmatically meeting business requirements.

  • Stays current in the "Best Practices" of Supply Planning including industry trends, benchmarking, systems, metrics, processes, etc.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain in an environment involving re-engineering processes, organizations, detailed design, and metrics/analytics for large consumer products organizations.

  • 2-3 Years in Finished Goods or Bulk Supply Planning activities to yield Schedule Adherence, Supply Planning Stability, Inventory Management, Fill Rate, Back Orders improvements.

  • Experience managing offsite direct reports a must.

  • Strong skills/experience in business intelligence and KPI/Analytics development with an ability to effectively lead inductive and deductive reasoning with the data to draw key business planning conclusions.

  • Experience managing master data maintenance/cleansing processes, activities, and resources to ensure clean data is being used to drive S&OP.

  • Relevant experience in using Oracle VCP or comparable Value Chain Planning Enterprise system functionality within a consumer goods manufacturing, distribution, and sales and marketing organization.

  • Advanced experience creating and using quantitative Excel models to integrate very large data extracts from diverse systems and generate articulate analytics, conclusions and supply plans.

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or comparable background or work experience.

  • APICS Certification Desired.

  • Sound presentation/articulation skills ability to clearly explain complex topics and clarify the key issues, align cross-functional stakeholders, and drive good cross-functional planning decisions.

  • Ability to use quantitative models, business intelligence, and KPI/Analytics to draw key business planning conclusions.

  • Ability to work proficiently in Excel to integrate large data extracts from diverse systems and generates S&OP analytics and plans.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and methodically identify and assess diverse problems and develop solutions.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented attitude with an ability to work in a fast-moving, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Ability to lead and work as an effective team player with other managers and staff representing diverse business functions.

  • 15% Travel to TX manufacturing facility.

  • Expertise in MS Excel, MS Power Point.
