Summary:

Reports to the Director of Physician Practice conducts financial and operational analysis to improve quality of services productivity revenue generation and efficiency within the Newport Women�s Health service. Gathers financial and qualitative data to prepare business and improvement plans. Presents recommendations to leadership and assists in implementation.

Responsibilities:

Assists the Director of Practice Operations in the development of short- and long-term goals for the service line in consideration of Lifespan�s mission values and key business objectives. Oversees the effective utilization of resources (people material and equipment) to meet established operational goals and objectives.

Administrative:

Assists with clinician education on all updates related to billing contracting payer

related issues and any updates that are pertinent to the clinical staff.

Implements clinician education any time a billing contracting or payer related issues comes up during the year which directly impacts program operations.

Develops and maintains relationships with LPG OB GYN/Providence.

Facilities Development and Projects:

Provides input into both operational and capital budget development.

Recommends and identifies alternate space floor plan design and other facility related issues when required.

Performs operational analysis and recommendations to improve the operations based on information.

Submits proposals to the Chief to reduce costs and improve workflow and department operations.

Works closely with Facilities Development and Facilities Management on the design and completion of all significant construction and equipment installation projects in the department when appropriate.

Strategic Planning:

Participates in the short- and long-range planning and its staff for inpatient and outpatient services .Is also responsible for strategic planning and program development along with clinical leadership including space planning. Prepares Pro Forma statements and business plans as requested.

Partners with key leadership to develop and expand care throughout the system.

Operational:

Develops and manages operational dashboards for the program.

Collaborates with leaders monitors standard operational performance metrics.

Creates and maintains monthly EPIC reports to be used for Financial and Operational dashboards.

Reviews operational statistics with leaders routinely and makes recommendations based on analysis.

Provides recommendations to improve operational efficiencies in all programs.

Participates in the planning design development and implementation of workflow procedures measuring efficiencies and output.

Recommends specific quality improvement initiatives for support staff to the Director of Physician Practice Management.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor�s Degree required.

Master�s degree in Hospital Administration or Business Administration preferred.

Candidates with equivalent job experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

Three to five years exercising critical thinking analysis and independent judgment in organizing prioritizing initiating and coordinating multiple activities.

Demonstrates knowledge of patient accounting systems and third-party payer credentialing procedures.

Computer literacy with working knowledge of an electronic medical record system (EPIC) spreadsheets databases and word-processing software.

Proven ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize and problem-solve issues ranging from immediate urgent matters to everyday issues manage interface issues between divisions/programs and staff and to organize and execute all functions duties and responsibilities in an area with potential for significant conflicts.

Knowledge of hospital operations departments and personnel.

Ability to effectively and efficiently interact and communicate with hospital personnel at all levels as well as with representatives of external companies and agencies.

Effective and efficient writing skills.
