This position pays between $96,526.00 to $128,701.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

POSITION CONCEPT:

The Manager, Business Development Pipelines and Special Projects serves as the corporate liaison working with large industrial and wholesale customers. Responsible for the development of natural gas expansion projects for large industrial customers into new natural gas service territory. Coordinates planning activities and develops recommendations related to gas system expansions and contract origination including the development of rates for bypass and alternative fuel (CIS) customers. Also, responsible for supporting FPSC activities related to the approval of special contracts with industrial and other customers.

Participates in the negotiation of gas transportation agreements with PGS and Seacoast transportation customers. Supports the contract origination of large projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong focus on developing relationships with industrial and wholesale customers and serves as point of contact for corporate industrial customer representatives; assist with the development of the industrial and electric generation customer revenue budgets. Participate in pipeline shipper and customer meetings throughout the southeast.

  • Responds to large customer inquiries into natural gas service and coordinates analyses and due-diligence for industrial customer and wholesale business opportunities including product offerings, project design, financial returns, and rate development. Participates and leads in negotiation of gas transportation agreements with PGS and Seacoast transportation customers including industrial, electric generation and wholesale customers. Participates and leads in negotiation of commercial structures and agreements related to special projects (i.e. LNG, CNG, RNG and CHP).

  • Determines how to leverage main extensions and system expansions for preservation and the addition of industrial customers; supports contract origination of large projects pertaining to incremental industrial and wholesale load and load retention as it pertains to alternate fuel and bypass, and originates special projects that utilize the natural gas pipeline system. Supports state regulatory efforts pertaining to the approval of special contracts.

  • Gain trust and credibility as an industry expert in the industrial and wholesale market sectors by providing customer solutions. Obtain a good understanding of the energy industry through keeping abreast of interstate pipeline market conditions, rates, and tariff requirements.

EDUCATION:

Required: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the field of business, marketing engineering, economics, finance, science, math or other technical field.

Preferred: An MBA or Master's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Minimum of 5 years related experience performing business development activities similar to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position; and minimum of 1 year direct work

experience performing business development activities in the energy industry.

Preferred: Direct work experience performing business development activities in the energy industry, and performing similar Duties & Responsibilities of this position for power, coal or other

commodity.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required:

  • Understanding of the content and applications of gas transportation agreements and tariffs.

  • Knowledge and applicability of natural gas transportation services offered by the Company.

  • Good analytic, oral, written, interpersonal and negotiating skills.

  • Preferred:

  • Direct knowledge and experience with Florida based natural gas industrial markets.

  • Knowledge of natural gas transportation industry protocols, business practices, and regulatory constructs.

  • Knowledge of the interrelationship of commodity prices and impacts on company and customer business.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires working extended hours and weekends; medium to high stress work environment; and frequent overnight travel is required.
