The Associate Marketing Communications Manager is the owner of the Essendant marketing contact database. They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all contact information. To accomplish this, they will need a mastery of our database system and capabilities as well as processes, workflows and data owners. They will have a continual eye for opportunities that drive efficiency, and enhanced data quality. Attention to detail is a must as their primary task in ensuring data quality will be in the establishment of KPIs, KPI review, and optimization plans. They will play a support role to teams in designing targeted segmentations, as well as scheduling and initiating workflows across various communication channels including email, social, web.
The individual is also accountable to work cross functionally and project manage the support, coordination and scheduling of general communications, campaigns, monthly newsletters, social posts and other various communications as needed, that are on deadline and follow brand standards to both internal and external recipients.
Manage, organize and establish best practices for the collection and maintenance of existing and new internal and external contact database.
Develops and documents quality control guidelines, validation, automation and data cleans processes to ensure data is accurate, updated and consistently being monitored.
Define data fields in Marketing automation software, identify data sources, and establish required fields to ensure complete records are available.
Proactively researches and updated missing customer data from other sources.
Proactively looks for ways to improve processes and procedures that enable enhancements to existing processes and changes as necessary.
As the technical expert of the marketing automation tool, this individual must have the ability to provide demonstrations or general tool overviews, stay up to date on enhancements and capabilities, as needed.
Supports the execution of campaigns, communications and ensures processes are being followed for successful delivery and results.
Uses their analytic ability to create and deliver performance reports to stakeholders and provides recommendations for improvement.
Produces clear and succinct written and verbal communications and knows how to structure and frame messages for different audiences.
Escalates issues and risks in a timely manner to prevent negative impacts to the communications experience

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
2-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, customer service or similar area.
Experience with Marketing automation tools and list management preferred.
Understanding of creative workflow process, including project initiation and kickoff, execution, approvals, production, proofing, tracking and archiving.
Thorough knowledge of corporate communications, marketing and branding principles
