The Manager Advanced Practice
Providers will be an integral leader in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at
Hasbro Childrens Hospital reporting to the Division Director of Pediatric
Hematology/Oncology. Time will be allocated for administrative responsibilities
including scheduling mentorship and program development for the existing Advanced
Practice Providers in the Hematology/Oncology and the Hemostasis and Thrombosis
Center working closely with the clinical and Practice Managers. Time will be
focused on the of children receiving hematology and oncology care including
evaluation and management delivery of chemotherapy oncology procedures and management

Oversees scheduling of
advanced practice providers to ensure proper patient care coverage
Participates in program
development under the direction of the Division Director
Demonstrates a fundamental
grounding in nursing theory and practice with mastery of knowledge within a
defined content area.
Manages a caseload of
patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and
coordinate care over time and across healthcare settings.
Provides leadership in the
development validation implementation and evaluation of standards policies
procedures and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model.
Oversees care coordination in
acute home care and ambulatory care settings as feasible.
Assists the healthcare team
to achieve mutually agreed upon healthcare goals by providing necessary
support education and encouragement.
physical and psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of family dynamics.
Provides direct care to
patients in acute care ambulatory care and home care settings.
Performs advanced practice
skills under the supervision of the Medical Director.
Provides expert consultation
for clinical issues promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee.
Participates in the education
clinical research and mentoring of healthcare providers.

Annually completes mandatory
safety infection control BLS and ACLS/PALS.
Prescriptive privileges per
Masters of Science Degree
Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Specialty certification required.
Baccalaureate in Nursing.
Certified in Basic Cardiac
Life Support (BLS).
Demonstrates knowledge and
skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging
processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the
One to two years experience
as a pediatric hematology-oncology Nurse Practitioner is preferred. Prior
supervisory or management experience desirable.
