The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining financial controls in compliance with internal policies. The Accounting Manager is responsible for implementing appropriate processes to lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting process, closing, communication of financial results, and in-depth analysis of variances. Works with the Plant Manager and Plant staff to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
20-30% Support/Influence the plant process by reducing costs and improving profitability
Participate in Safety and Housekeeping programs as required.
Operations involvement work to understand plant manufacturing process and quality variables that impact the manufacturing process.
prepare weekly and monthly estimates of variances to Plant and Corp management
provide monthly variance and actual cost reporting to Plant and Corp management
use intellectual curiosity work to resolve issues and improve systems such as receiving,
material usage and PPV issues
work with department managers on overhead spending control
provide Logistics with inventory and transportation costs analysis as needed
20-30% Ensure accuracy, timeliness and quality of all financial information
use Self Audit Questionnaire as a tool to ensure proper controls are in place.

20% People development: Drive team results by managing performance and providing regular feedback and coaching.
10-20% Work with Plant staff on issue resolution to ensure effective systems and processes are in place.

10-15% Manage business plan process: work with staff to meet plan timetable; production rate planning; direct labor crews and budget; overhead spending projection and budget development; estimated and target bill of materials and efficiencies; participate in development of capital plan and coordinate depreciation budget; input bill of materials in PeopleSoft with approved overhead and efficiencies.
5-10% Review and approve Capital Projects (AFCE's). Capital Expenditure tracking, forecasting, inventory control and tagging of assets.
5-10% Work with Logistics Manager to manage the annual physical inventory process. Review/audit cycle count process throughout the year to ensure accurate finished goods, raw material inventory and mechanical stores reporting. Review production reporting balancing, auditing and verification. Work with logistics throughout the year to ensure correct SMOOSI reporting each quarter. Inter-company shipments and transfer activity auditing and review, as applicable.
5-10% Audit payroll registers and reports.
5% Payroll processing.
5% Perform other duties as assigned.

Designation of CPA, MBA, or CMA may be required
