Essential Duties/Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Must be able to operate a variety of machinery including but not limited to Winding and Marathon machinery, shot blast equipment, planishers, flue expanding tools and flue insert equipment to assemble and fabricate tanks.

  • Performs program profile adjustments and/or mechanical adjustments to equipment with minimal downtime, scrap, rework or added labor.

  • Follows written/verbal instructions to ensure proper parameters are entered/adjusted during set-up, operation and shutdown of equipment.

  • Meets and exceeds machine cycle times, while exercising quick and proper decision making to multi-task to achieve complete operations cycles on an ongoing basis.

  • Recognizes and reacts appropriately to patterns of instability or variation in process data, maintaining process controls at all times.

  • Monitors equipment for proper function while ensuring product quality is within established requirements, with minimal scrap, downtime, regrind and rework.

  • Confers with supervision or engineers to resolve machine malfunctions, production errors and obtains approval to continue production when needed.

  • Inspects units or parts for defects and workmanship.

  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area.

  • Observes all departmental safety requirements.

  • Maintains quality standards according to specifications.

  • Supports and exceeds departmental goals/KPIs.

  • Work from written or verbal orders.

  • Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.

  • Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.

Work Environment: May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles. Physical Demands: Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift. Must be able to place a weighted object at a minimum height of 5 foot. Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.

Candidate must successfully be fitted for a respirator. PPE Required: Gloves, Safety glasses, Approved footwear, Earplugs, Respirator, Clothing Protection

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Candidate be self-motivated and have demonstrated problem solving skills as well as support team building skills.

Required Experience: Candidate must have worked in a manufacturing environment/warehouse setting for a minimum of 1 year.

Technical Requirements:Must be able to learn to operate a calculator.

VIEW JOBS 8/19/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-11-17T00:00 PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Frequently carries parts and sets up equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds. Hoist, jacks and pulleys are operated to remove and replace large units. Most equipment is operated or repaired from floor level or through the use of ladder(s), fixed scaffolding and platforms. Incumbent must have good eyesight, use of all limbs, be able to walk, crawl, climb. Work is sometimes performed in cramped positions where bending, stooping, and/or crawling may be required for short periods of time during repair work. Work is normally performed inside of Boiler Plant; however, on occasion, such as two persons being assigned to the same shift. The Boiler Plant produces high temperatures and considerable noise. You will be exposed to the hazards of shock, tripping, falling, burns, dust, fluids, and chemicals. Fumes may be generated from gas systems, oil systems, and chemicals. Steam header in the Boiler Plant normally has steam safety precautions to offset the above working conditions. Ear protectors, face masks, aprons, gloves, are provided and worn as required to meet safety requirements. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications.
