DESCRIPTION

The production subfamily includes Assembly and Logistics teams within the general manufacturing team responsible for building, automated testing, and packaging of Amazon products manufactured internally.

Production associates use their general knowledge of manufacturing tools (including but not limited to cleaning equipment, media blasting glove boxes, powder handling equipment, etc.) and follow written/verbal instructions to perform the following:

  • Required tasks and execute and process 3D printing goods utilizing industry best practices.

  • Shipping, receiving, maintaining, tracking, and delivering goods for manufacturing following appropriate protocols.

  • Seeking out improvements in processes to continuously meet on time delivery of goods.

  • Have a working knowledge of the ERP[1] system for material management as well as coordinate methods of delivery with suppliers and customers to identify opportunities for reducing cost while improving material safety.

  • Understanding product life cycles and maintain traceability with the utmost integrity for all products and assemblies.

You are assembling, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products. You follow one or more process paths defined by your leader/ lead tech/ manual/ SOP. You use your knowledge to perform a variety of routine, tactical tasks, troubleshoot standard tasks, and seek guidance if you need to deviate from available procedures.

Your work is reviewed daily for quality by manufacturing leaders and peers. You are continuing to learn new process as you are being developed and collaborate effectively with peers, managers, engineers, and partner teams. You use your knowledge of one or more processes paths to determine which task or procedure is needed to achieve desired outcome.

You may identify training needs for the team and work with your manager to help address them. You may be expected to learn equipment calibration processes and may contribute to maintaining calibration of tools. You assist in the training of new-hires and junior peers to help them scale in their role.

You identify and completing additional tasks once your assigned work is complete. You meet productivity and quality standards by following best practices.

You are expected to contribute to process improvement ideas wherever applicable in your project scope. You uphold job and/or site safety standards and operations protocol. You attempt to resolve individual work blockers; escalate if resolution cannot be found.

[1] Enterprise resource planning (ERP) refers to a type of software that organizations use to manage day-to-day front and back office business activities such as accounting, procurement, or in this case manufacturing.

Seattle, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years experience with hand tool such as but not limited to, drivers, cutters, drills, vacuums, ect.

1-2 years experience executing written instruction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years experience in manufacturing and fabrication environments.

1-2 years experience with warehouse activities, including but not limited to pallet jacks, powder fork lifts, inventory record keeping, shipping and receiving, ect.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $48,880/year in our lowest geographic market up to $72,800/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
