Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will efficiently provide high quality engineering solutions to complex manufacturing and business problems. The Manufacturing Project Technician will drive improvement using industry best practices, standardize work, and mentor coworkers while executing engineering and support tasks for a large-scale project in multiple manufacturing plants. Work will be completed according to TE Connectivity's SOPs within ISO 13485 and/or 21 CFR 820 environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical ownership of engineering project deliverables and support tasks

  • Lead and participate in cross functional teams to solve problems and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other analytical tools

  • Analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and process controls

  • Create and advocate for standard work for all deliverables when applicable

  • Process development, fixture & tooling development

  • Draft, execute, and complete equipment and process validation

  • Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions when necessary

  • Develop and support process documentation, train employees

  • Consistently provide an Exceptional Customer Experience

  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Positive adaptable attitude that thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and negotiate alignment with stakeholders

  • Quick learner with strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AS/AA Engineering/Computer Science/Physical Sciences Degree

  • ISO 13485 or FDA 21 CFR 820 experience

  • Forklift certification

  • Equipment troubleshooting preciion electrical and mechanical measurement tools

  • Risk management and change control experience

  • Experience dealing with third party equipment vendors

  • Machine shop/fabrication experience

  • Solid modeling/drafting ability (Solidworks/CREO/AutoCAD preferred)

  • Experience with high mix/low volume, operator dependent processes

General Summary: The successful individual in this position demonstrates the ability to specify and implement processes/procedures that enhance product quality, reduce cost, increase plant efficiency and facilitates technology transfer. Works closely with product development associates and plant personnel to develop, test and implement processes to commercialize Pacific Foods products (Soup, Broth, Plant Based Beverages and Meals). Conducts process scale up from pilot plant to manufacturing. Designs and develops experimental test plans for feasibility, pilot plant & plant trial runs, and commissioning, validation and audits of manufacturing units of operation. Support one or more projects of moderate complexity and technical risk with little to no assistance. Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of production problems and implement effective solutions. Effectively communicates at multiple levels within the organization and works well on cross-functional teams. Primary Responsibilities: * Lead moderately complex engineering projects/investigations, and/or support complex projects with some supervision. * Conduct feasibility studies and implement new/improved process/packages * Integrate process expertise & knowledge into early product development process. Build cohesive relationship as liaison between Product Development, Quality organization, Engineering, Supply Chain and Thermal Plant operations during the commercialization process. * Provide process engineering knowledge to implement efficient and effective technology transfer between Technical Solution Hub, R&D and the thermal plants * Perform a robust situation assessment, document manufacturing methods, and procedures. Analyze and trend data to ensure that manufacturing systems will reliably deliver high quality product as designed within specification and cost. Document test results & conclusions, process parameters, critical control points and specifications * Review engineering drawings, automated process sequence descriptions and capital installation from process prospective * Commission / validate & start-up of new processes / equipment * Drive the development of innovative processes/technologies and commercialization of new business initiatives. Develop innovative approaches for testing and problem resolution.
