Job Overview

The Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, raw material suppliers, and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.

Short Description

• Process Development/Implementation/Documentation

• Extrusion

• Assist other areas of cable manufacturing as required.

• Support Product Development/Design Engineering activities.

• Interact with test lab on process/product qualification activities

• DOE, PFMEA, 8D, FA

• Tooling Specification & Design.

• Product / Process Validation & Transfer

• Support additional manufacturing sites

• Manufacturing Equipment Specification & Design - concept, qualification, FAT

• Interact with industry OEM equipment, material, and tooling to develop and improve performance/ quality/supply.

• Support Cost Reduction Initiatives.

• Support SAFE Activities

• Support ISO Activities

• Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.

What your background should look like:

• Plastics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred.

• This is an entry Level Position

• 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment is a plus.

• Must be proficient in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean

• CAD Experience Required

• Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable is a plus.

• 30% International Travel Required.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $66,160 - $99,240 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
