Mfg. Engrs - Manufacturing Engineer II

The primary purpose of this job is to perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features. Ensures Viant internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or total project of moderate scope.

  • Reviews test procedures and plans prior to implementation, conducts failure analysis and inspection on products, processes and materials.

  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Investigates, develops and implements new process technologies of moderate scope.

  • Prepares all necessary paperwork and documentation for all projects undertaken.

  • Performs other functions as required.

Environmental working conditions

  • Minimal lifting (20 lbs.), carrying (10 lbs.), bending, pushing/pulling, crawling, climbing, balancing, and prolonged standing.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.

  • This position normally works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned, indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • CNC Machining background/programming preferred.

  • Validation and statistics (IQ, OQ, PQ) Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification, Process Qualification.

  • Medical Device/FDA experience is a plus.

  • Solidworks

  • ISO 13485 standard (or Equiv.)

  • Good Manufacturing Practices

  • OSHA / Safety

  • Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma Methodologies

  • Green Belt or Black Belt training

  • PFMEA

  • Minitab

  • Design of Experience (DOE)

  • Oracle Configuration (or Equiv.)

  • Process Equipment Validation

  • Root Cause Analysis

  • Works with our customers on protypes. Designs, issues and delivery

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment (which includes designing, testing, and implementing process improvements, and writing specifications)

  • Supporting equipment validations, along with diagnosing and solving production equipment problems related to efficiency, scrap, and quality issues.

  • Specialized knowledge:

  • Computer skills as required by stated accountabilities. Intermediate word-processing and spreadsheet skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Specialized skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

PAY RANGE

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000 annual salary. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

All job offers are contingent on passing a background check and drug test (including THC.)
