We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Salt Lake City, Utah facilities to fill the lead manufacturing engineering role on new product teams. Our New Product Introduction team is looking for an engineer who is self-motivated, hard-working, eager to learn new things, extremely organized, attentive to detail and has outstanding communication skills.

This role develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with Design Engineering and Manufacturing during the development and release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Job Description


  • Manage the build, test and shipment of engineering prototypes to customers and engineers

  • Build engineering prototypes and provide analysis and feedback to Design Engineering on manufacturability and technical issues

  • Investigate and troubleshoot product/process failures, providing feedback and solutions to engineering

  • Define and Perform verification and validation testing

  • Analyze and mitigate manufacturing risks using six sigma tools (i.e. Process Maps, FMEA, etc.)

  • Monitor performance of new product and drive initiatives to continually improve the product/processes.

  • Prepare documentation, write reports, and give presentations

  • Supervise the work of technicians or others who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers.


Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents.

  • Familiar with employing the latest industry techniques and practices.

  • Familiar with the latest available tools or standards used in the industry to complete task(s).

Required Certifications and Training

  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.



  • Developing professional skills and experience.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.


  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.


  • Normally receives general instructions on new projects or assignments.

Typical Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in working with design engineering and manufacturing in implementing, designing and supporting flat panel products and processes.
