Metrology Market Manager (Redmond/Los Angeles)
This position will currently be responsible for both the Los Angeles/Seattle markets
Responsible for execution and coordination of all aspects of the metrology business.
Responsible for the management, integration and coordination of work groups and/or units engaged in similar or related routine operational activities.
Establishes unit objectives, work plans, schedules, and ensures resources are available for completion of established operational assignments.
Performs administrative activities (i.e. developing budgets, cost/benefits analysis).
Oversees activities of subordinates, ensures a productive work environment and department objectives are completed in accordance with quality standards, time and budget constraints.
Advises staff on operational projects and tasks.
May perform higher level tasks associated with an individual contributor role.
Focuses on resource development and process improvements.
Evaluates and implements changes in work procedures in assigned areas.
Staffs and hires candidates for employment.
Provides performance evaluations, recommends promotions, interprets and applies organization policies, and monitors and resolves employee situations.
Develops and trains subordinates. Enhances communications by facilitating team meetings.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Provides direction to staff and assists with the implementation of department and company initiatives.
Develops plans for operational improvements.
Decisions may have a major impact on the overall success of the day to day operations.
Provides frequent customer interaction on operational issues.
Applies wide application of theories, principles and concepts to operational planning.
Drives business development for the market including wide range of commercial and governmental opportunities.
Participates as team member of larger business development opportunities.
Leadership skills, ability to counsel, coach, develop, and motivate staff of professionals.
Team building and facilitation skills.
Solid communication/presentation skills.
Exhibits full use of standard theories, principles, concepts and techniques in metrology disciplines.
Knowledge of advanced aspects of technical specialties in assigned area(s) of responsibilities. Experienced in ISO17025 calibration environment.
Note: Final level of position will be determined by experience and requirements for this position
BS/BA Degree in technical or management discipline.
Master degree in Management preferred. In lieu of degree, appropriate level of experience in Metrology with increasing roles and responsibilities.
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
PMEL trained or equivalent highly preferred.
