The Wolfspeed Factory Controls team is looking for a technician to support the daily metrology and defect analysis activities of the Wolfspeed Wafer Fab. The successful candidate will be a hard-working, well organized, hands-on problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. They should thrive in a customer service, deadline-oriented atmosphere that supports a variety of functional groups in the Wolfspeed Wafer Fab. Areas of responsibility will include multiple characterization techniques including but not be limited to dimensional metrology (optical, SEM, AFM), thin films metrology (ellipsometry, reflectometry), automated defect analysis, and electrical testing.

What can you do for Cree?
Metrology and defect analysis engineering support. This will include, but not be limited to, tool qualifications, process monitoring through SPC, troubleshooting and reacting to metrology issues, dispositioning material, microscope inspections and many other tasks as requested.
Areas of concentration will include dimensional metrology, thin films metrology, automated defect analysis, visual inspection, and electrical testing.
Define/refine methods to improve measurement repeatability and reliability to improve yields and reduce costs in the Wafer Fab.
Work closely with engineering team to develop and qualify new metrology and defect analysis processes and tool sets. This will include characterizing, documenting, and possibly presenting data based around designed experiments.
Report and document metrology issues and equipment malfunctions. Take corrective action and interact with multiple functional groups to identify and resolve non-conformances.
Assist in creating new and refining existing procedures and recipes.
Assist in peer training on existing and new tool sets and processes.
Associate's degree in a technical field or least 3 years of clean room experience.
Candidate must be a US citizen or Green Card holder.
At least 2 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience.
Able to work in clean room for extended period of time.
Must be able to work 12-hour day or night shifts in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
Team Player and able to multi-task in several areas.
Must have a positive, professional, energetic, can-do attitude. "Do whatever it takes" work ethic.
Strong 5S background and attention to detail.
Must have ability to work effectively and take initiative with little continuous direct supervision.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to handle sudden changes in daily priorities.
Proficient in reading and understanding technical documents.
Familiar with data analysis using SAS JMP.
