Job Summary: This position is responsible for setting new water meters, replacing meters and registers, accurate reading and re-reading water meters, as needed, and assisting with the provision of customer service.

Major Duties:

  • Installs new meters for new construction;

  • Checks for dysfunctional meters and reports any defects to supervisor;

  • Removes and replaces dysfunctional meters as necessary;

  • Reads water utility meters for commercial and residential customers;

  • Maintains records on standard forms to ensure proper billing;

  • Completes work orders to turn on and turn off water service;

  • Runs re-checks on meters in question;

  • Performs final reading for customers requesting disconnection; turns water services on for new customers;

  • Disconnects water services to delinquent customers;

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • Knowledge of water meter functions and billing methods;

  • Knowledge of safety regulations;

  • Knowledge of the City water systems;

  • Knowledge of the location of City streets and meters;

  • Skill in operating a hand-held meter-reading unit;

  • Skill in oral and written communication;

  • Skill in dealing with the general public;

  • Ability to observe meter activity accurately and record readings legibly;

  • Ability to make mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years meter or water utility experience; possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position reports to the Maintenance Lead. Shift: 3/2 Shift, nights Scope: To effectively use electronic skills to maintain equipment and keep machines operating successfully. Job Requirements: * High school diploma or G.E.D. required * Electronics Technology Degree or Certification and/or advanced training required * 3+ years control system hardware and software design experience * Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) * 3 to 5 years of experience as an Electronics Technician or similar function requiring Electronics Technician competencies * Proficient in electrical/electronic systems/troubleshooting * Ability to work and troubleshoot PLC's, ladder logic, and communication systems * Understand and manipulate industrial communications * Troubleshoot Servo Motors * Troubleshoot AC/DC drives * Basic knowledge and understanding in process control systems such as: temperature control, pressure control, flow control and PID control loops * Proficient in troubleshooting basic electrical circuits * Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings * Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint * You must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check * A resume containing your qualifications is required. Preferred Requirement: * Industrial controls experience is highly preferred Internal Applicants: * Last performance review was rated "Effective" or higher. * No disciplinary actions beyond a verbal within the past 120 days. * Conduct Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures * Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, including motor relays, circuit breakers, machine and process controls, circuits, and electrical distribution systems * Modify machinery logic systems (PLC's) and PC based systems and requires working knowledge of DC/AC drives in function and as they relate to an overall web-handling process, Allen Bradley, Eurotherm and Omron PLCs * Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams * Acquire/requisition spare parts related to power distribution and all electrical and electronic systems * Make electrical modifications and upgrades to current equipment and installation of new equipment with the ability to run conduit and size wiring systems * Review specifications and acquires power distribution materials needed for new equipment installations * Work outside the electronic/electrical area is expected when capable or when assisting another associate * Effective communication with corporate engineering, vendors, internal customers and working on teams * Proficient in computerized maintenance software * Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and/or Lead Document parts used and repairs completed in management system * Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards * Function as a fire crew member * Function as a first responder for medical/first aid * Maintain fire and security systems Strong skills are required in the areas of: * Integrity * Judgment * Information Gathering * Problem Analysis * Written Oral communication * Innovation EOE F/M/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disabled/Vet #CB Printpack Villa Rica GA
