GENERAL DUTIES The normal duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices. 2.
Employee, acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision, will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Meter Reader. 3.
Employee will, when directed by supervision, report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities. 4. Employee must satisfactorily complete all required training programs adopted by the Company. 5.
Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. 6. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. 7. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. 8.
Employee will complete forms and documents as required. 9. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude. 10. Employee will report to proper supervision job progress and all problems or other factors which affect the job, except recommendations for disciplinary action.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Duties which may include but are not limited to: 1. Employee must meet company-established metrics for accuracy and estimations after normal training is completed. 2.
Employee will obtain special meter readings when required (rereads). 3.
Employee will assist in obtaining customers keys or other means of entry to the meter in order that regular monthly readings can be taken and meter inspections can be performed as required. 4. Employee will wear, maintain, repair and keep company furnished uniforms in a neat and clean manner. 5.
Ensure all meters are completed on a daily basis. 6.
MUST read ALL probe meters for billing, load research (survey meters), and various other special rate meters in a timely manner and on a daily basis. 7. Report any misses or problems with probed meters at end of each day. 8. Recommend routes to be optimized to improve operational efficiency. 9.
Routinely update special instructions (maps, contact information, keys, meter locations) for all meters and routes. 10. Report new and changed meters, replace seals on meters when found broken, replace demand seals with correct monthly color and use all handheld codes correctly as required. 11. Perform meter inspections to ensure that meters meet performance and safety standards as required by the KPSC.
Must accurately report all meter conditions/ meter codes from inspections. Work Conditions Exposure to outside weather elements, dirt, noise, insect, and animals. Must be able to walk for long distances and for long periods of time. Physical Effort Job will require entering and exiting truck while reading driving routes numerous times in course of workday
