Metal Fabricator (Code-Pressure Vessel)
Fabricate steel, stainless steel, heavy and light structures, frames, skids, piping, tanks, sheet metals and other projects
Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses and operate welders, drill press, band saw, oxy-acetylene torch, plasma cutters, etc.
Designs and constructs templates and fixtures
Welds on a variety of materials to include titanium, hastelloy, aluminum, stainless, and carbon
Performs field welds on equipment and pressure vessels in various locations and positions
Welder/fabricators may be asked to help in the preparation of equipment for painting, assembly of equipment for shipping, testing of equipment, installation of equipment, and other duties required in daily production activities
Maintains equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
May be required to get certification in operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and man lifts.
The candidate may be required to work from heights and confined spaces
Supports company's planning and scheduling model during routine and shutdown execution
Must have active welder certifications (GMAW, GTAW, SWAW, FCAW)
Must have 3+ years Welding and Fabricating experience in an industrial manufacturing facility
ASME/BPVC certification for pressure vessels, AWS certification and Ironwork/Rigging are a plus
Must have the ability to maintain high quality welds in a safe manner
Must be able to distinguish between titanium, hastelloy, stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum
Must have knowledge of welding repair techniques
Must have the ability to weld on aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel
Titanium and hastelloy certifications a plus
Must be able to fabricate steel, heavy and light structures, frames, skids, piping, tanks, sheet metals
Must have the ability to set up, adjust, and operate welders, drill press, band saw, torches, plasma cutters, etc.
The ability to read blueprints, sketches, specifications, written, and verbal instructions is required
Must have basic math skills, able to convert decimals to fractions, and use all units of measure
Must be able to read a tape measure and square to 1/32"
Must be able to work overtime when needed in order to meet production deadlines
Must be able to physically meet job requirements; standing, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
High School Diploma / GED
Knowledge of industry safety practices and willingness to participate in advancing safety culture
Great Attendance and ability to work independently without daily supervision
Will be required to pass welding practical tests as follows per ASME and BPVC standards:
