This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. This position will last for up to 12 months.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to learn and use required software programs

  • Strong analytical thinking and writing skills

  • Experience with library standards and systems a plus

  • Technical services and cataloging experience preferred

  • Ability to organize, concentrate, and remain focused

  • Production- and goal-oriented

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

For internship positions: candidates must be currently enrolled in college-level courses or have graduated within the previous 12-months; candidates are required to provide authorization from their school as may be required by that school.

Must be committed to excellence and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living temple recommend standards which will be confirmed with the candidate's ecclesiastical leader.

This person will be responsible for providing metadata, editing bibliographic records, andanalyzing copyright information for the FamilySearch catalog and Digital Library. This person will work with and support volunteers and staff to research library materials before digitization, conduct audits, and create or update metadata. The job requires using a library catalog, internal tracking systems, digital content management systems, and external research tools. The best candidate will be very attentive to details within data, be able to quickly analyze information, and be a team contributor.
