JOB SUMMARY: The Metadata Administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration of our newly acquired Data Governance tool and the management of metadata for Forbright Bank. This position is responsible for establishing a robust framework, ensuring technical integration, and managing data lineage within our organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the day-to-day administration of the Data Governance tool, ensuring its optimal performance, availability, and security
Design and implement processes and standards for metadata collection, categorization, and maintenance that align with organizational goals and industry best practices
Lead the technical integration efforts of the metadata tool with other systems and data sources across the organization
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data lineage, including data source mapping, transformations, and data flow tracking
Coordinate with data stewards and other stakeholders to ensure metadata accuracy, completeness, and consistency
Provide training and support to users on navigating and leveraging the metadata tool for data discovery, understanding, and governance
Participate in the selection and implementation of additional metadata management and data governance tools as needed
Conduct regular audits of the metadata repository to identify and rectify any issues or inconsistencies
Ensure the data governance platform aligns with enterprise security standards and data protection policies
Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades in coordination with AWS service changes and needs
Provide technical troubleshooting, user support, and training for tool-specific issues
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation and standard operating procedures for the data governance platform
Support the Data Governance Analyst in promoting data governance best practices and facilitating data literacy across the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field required
Proven experience in administering data governance tools, particularly within an AWS environment
Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage concepts, and data governance practices
Familiarity with setting up and managing permissions, roles, and security protocols within AWS for data governance purposes
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with data modeling and data quality tools is a plus

The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience. $92,700 (entry level qualifications) to $113,300 (highly experienced).
