JOB SUMMARY: The Metadata Administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration of our newly acquired Data Governance tool and the management of metadata for Forbright Bank. This position is responsible for establishing a robust framework, ensuring technical integration, and managing data lineage within our organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Data Governance tool, ensuring its optimal performance, availability, and security

  • Design and implement processes and standards for metadata collection, categorization, and maintenance that align with organizational goals and industry best practices

  • Lead the technical integration efforts of the metadata tool with other systems and data sources across the organization

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data lineage, including data source mapping, transformations, and data flow tracking

  • Coordinate with data stewards and other stakeholders to ensure metadata accuracy, completeness, and consistency

  • Provide training and support to users on navigating and leveraging the metadata tool for data discovery, understanding, and governance

  • Participate in the selection and implementation of additional metadata management and data governance tools as needed

  • Conduct regular audits of the metadata repository to identify and rectify any issues or inconsistencies

  • Ensure the data governance platform aligns with enterprise security standards and data protection policies

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades in coordination with AWS service changes and needs

  • Provide technical troubleshooting, user support, and training for tool-specific issues

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation and standard operating procedures for the data governance platform

  • Support the Data Governance Analyst in promoting data governance best practices and facilitating data literacy across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field required

  • Proven experience in administering data governance tools, particularly within an AWS environment

  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage concepts, and data governance practices

  • Familiarity with setting up and managing permissions, roles, and security protocols within AWS for data governance purposes

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with data modeling and data quality tools is a plus

The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience. $92,700 (entry level qualifications) to $113,300 (highly experienced).
