Metabolic/Bariatric Reviewer - 10 Hours/Week, 100% Remote!

The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR) works closely with the members of the metabolic and bariatric and general surgery departments to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects that may be identified.

Required Skills:

• Clinical knowledge data collection identification of opportunities of improvement require clinical knowledge and an understanding of patient care period the candidate should have some clinical understanding as well as access to the clinical mentor who can provide guidance for complex questions (35%)
• Computer knowledge the ability to learn and utilized new software and web applications for data entry in report generation the candidate should have some computer experience with Microsoft Office particularly at Microsoft Excel and basic statistical skills 25%
• Hospital systems knowledge the ability to identify opportunities to report metabolic and bariatric data to relevant groups or meetings parentheses for example, morbidity and mortality, infection control, quality management, and administration end parentheses. The candidate should have some experience sharing information across functions. (20%)
• Knowledge of medical terminology basic anatomy Physiology and disease processes required

Required Experience:

• Minimum one year experience in hospital surgery department or surgery clinic with clinical research or medical records clinical chart review and abstraction experience required

• Ability to managed data entry deadlines and centers accreditation processes as necessary.

• Assessment and goal setting skills, project/time management skills, and problem solving skills are required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Presentation experience required.

• Computer skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and MediTech required. Knowledge of UHC and Access databases a plus.

• PREFERRED - Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience preferred. Preferred basic or intermediate statistical knowledge preferred

Education:

• Bachelors degree preferred.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

• Ability to complete all online training modules and pass MBSCR certification examination within 30 days of hire is required
• RHIA, RH IT, LPN/ LVN, RD, RN, or BSN preferred but not required.
