Job Description:

As an integral member of a small, collaborative team focused on building our next generation of engine diagnostic software, you will use your research and engineering expertise to architect and help develop machine intelligence that delivers on the goal of eliminating waste from the diagnostic and repair processes of our Service network. In addition to extensive software development experience, the qualified applicant will have some engine repair knowledge, significant statistics knowledge, significant Azure knowledge, and intimate knowledge of at least two machine learning solutions.

This position will be based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, but some remote work is possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with team to identify data types and amount necessary to develop machine learning models

  • Collaborates with team to prioritize diagnostic and repair processes that will benefit from machine intelligence

  • Collaborates with team to develop failure probability metrics based on warranty and fault/symptom data

  • Work with various consultants to ensure our processes are evolving along with other industries

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 8 years of experience working in software development
  • 3 years of recent experience with C# and Python, and Visual Studio
  • 2 years of Azure experience
  • 1 year of machine learning experience
Preferred Experience and

Skills:
  • Master of Computer Science

  • Solid knowledge of Azure IoT Edge

As an integral member of a small team focused on building our next generation of engine diagnostic software, you will provide guidance and insight on mechanical and electromechanical systems diagnostic processes and reasoning. The qualified applicant will have significant engine/diagnostics knowledge, a statistical background, and an interest in software development and artificial intelligence (AI). Key Responsibilities: * Evaluating electromechanical and mechanical system failures and defining the necessary diagnostic data gathering processes for establishing intelligent diagnostic algorithms and workflows * Create diagnostic reasoning value stream maps with various subject matter experts * Ensure application and algorithm accuracy by designing testing methods * Design and build system simulators for simulating failure conditions for continuous analysis * Provide reports on test coverage, utilization and probability accuracy * Work with various consultants to ensure our processes are evolving along with other industries Experience and Skills: * Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline * 10 years of engine experience * 5 years working for an advanced manufacturing company * Familiarity with at least one programming language * Prior Lean Six Sigma certification a plus Headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wis., Mercury Marine is the world's leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines.
