ipsy is looking for a smart, strategic and experienced Merchant for its recently launched Glam Bag Plus business. You will focus on furthering ipsy's mission to inspire individuals around the world to express their unique beauty by bringing the best brands and products to our members. Your role will involve partnering with our Brand Partnership Managers to drive product selection and curation for the Glam Bag Plus. You are the perfect fit if you love beauty, are analytical, have a positive professional attitude, and can work well as part of a dynamic cross-functional team. This role reports to the Director of Glam Bag Plus and is based in our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delight the ipsy community through merchandise by creating Glam Bag Plus assortments that spotlight key trends, seasonal products and coveted brands.

  • Lead weekly product review meetings with Brand Partnership Managers and Merchandise Planner and coordinate product review panels and internal focus groups.

  • Test and provide feedback for each brand and product submitted with a focus on maximizing community happiness.

  • Ensure tight coordination among stakeholders for each product submitted for consideration.

  • Provide perspective on personalization and targeting for each product in partnership with the Personalization Analyst.

  • Work closely with cross functional partners and Merchandise Planner on new tools to improve sourcing.

  • Bring monthly merchandising themes to life through Glam Bag Plus product assortment and content.

  • Communicate brand story and product benefits to Marketing and Creative teams to assist with development of strong editorial content to drive ipster education.

  • Collaborate with Brand Partnership Managers during annual brand strategy process to keep the Glam Bag Plus business exciting and innovative for our members.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly Glam Bag Plus insights for Brand Partnerships Team, company and management.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

  • 5+ years of work experience with at least 3+ years of beauty merchandising experience required. Product development background preferred.

  • Obsessive about customers and convinced that details matter.

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities (a lover of lists and timelines).

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creative marketing mind with understanding of brands, consumers and products to help drive merchandising decisions and editorial content.

  • Proven ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be calm & collected under pressure.

  • Strong understanding of retail math.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and Google Documents.

  • Passion for beauty.
