Overview

The role of the Merchandising Senior Product Manager of Wedding Bands is to develop and execute a merchandising business plan to help successfully grow the profitability of one of the jewelry industry's largest suppliers. Managing a portion of the Bridal business, this position will be responsible for partnering with product development teams, managing pricing & inventory, and creating marketing strategies. This dynamic role will work cross-functionally with various internal teams and external partners to help ensure we are best servicing our customer base.

Qualifications

  • Direct work experience in a merchandising/business management capacity ideal

  • Ability to make oral and written presentations with confidence in a clear, unbiased manner

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills

  • The ability to multi-task and manage priorities

  • Negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people and maintain an effective harmonious working environment

  • Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results

  • Intuitive sense for design and merchandising

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Jewelry and jewelry manufacturing knowledge helpful

  • Diamond and gemstone knowledge helpful

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year college degree or equivalent) in Merchandising or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development a holistic merchandising plan in relation to the life-cycle of product.

  • Partner with internal product development team to create an offering of on trend and essential products based on an assortment plan

  • Work with vendor partners to bring on new styles to fill assortment gaps. Responsible for vendor pricing negotiations.

  • Partner with marketing to develop marketing materials and promotions to successfully launch new products.

  • Creation of customer selling solutions to help win in-case business within jewelry stores.

  • Analyze market conditions and industry trends to drive decisions related to new product.

  • Marketing responsibilities, including paginating seasonal brochures and catalogs, along with proofing copy and artwork and seeing it through completion

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Using provided reporting tools to analyze the business and maximize profitability.

  • The ability to engage and inform large groups of people through presentations.

  • Flexible during times of change.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management and other departments.
