Job Title: Mentor Coach
Pay Range: $22.12-$23.50 hourly

Position Summary:
The Mentor Coach is responsible for fostering the progress of children's school readiness through high quality teacher practices and curriculum fidelity. This includes observation, coaching, and training of infant, toddler, preschool, and prekindergarten educators, using research-based adult learning principles.
Essential Functions:

Build collaborative relationships with teachers to assess needs, set goals, and create action plans
Observe and document classroom interactions and practices, using support strategies to teach, refine, or improve practices
Demonstrate teaching practices that promote teacher understanding
Maintain and model professionalism through respectful feedback and confidential interactions
Obtain and analyze data to determine needs and progress of teachers, classrooms, and programs
Utilize knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and adult learning principles to ensure alignment with agency philosophy and approach to early childhood education
Apply knowledge of the Office of Head Start's frameworks: Effective Everyday Practice, Child Development and Early Learning
Seek assistance from other professionals as needed and maintains knowledge of current practices in the field
Organize, develop, and conduct high impact professional development for teachers
Complete monthly reports and documentation
Ensure compliance with Bauer Policies, State Licensing, and Head Start Program Performance Standards
Attend twice-monthly staff meetings, monthly Professional Development Days, quarterly All-Agency meetings, and
annual Pre-Service
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass routine background checks.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, or other related field.
Head Start and/or coaching experience preferred.
Must have a valid Indiana Driver's license and the ability to meet the minimum requirements of the insurance carrier at all times.
