Job Overview Unit Secretary:

Communicate with unit customers, internal and external. Communicate with ancillary departments: dietary, social work, security, housekeeping, activity therapy, CARE team.

Coordinate activity at the nurse#s station including: answering phones, customer service with visitors and families, paging staff as needed, and#completing filing.

Participate on unit and/or hospital committees and performance improvement projects as appropriate. Assist charge nurse/team leader as appropriate.

Mental Health Tech:

The Mental Health Tech is a member of the multidisciplinary team, under the direction of the RN, that provides or assists with basic patient care requirements, treatments and procedures.# Communicates to the RN pertinent findings or observations noted while providing patient care and comfort.

Timely and accurately#documents all care provided in the electronic medical record#system per documentation standards.# Assists professional staff with basic life support principles.

Certifications/Licenses/Education; De-escalation training and Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.

####High school diploma or general education degree

(GED); minimum of 4 semesters (12 credit hours) of college level psychology classes or equivalent number of years direct work experience required.#
