Crisis Residential is a 24/7 program that provides a safe, supportive environment for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. We are looking to motivated and caring members to our team.

Job Duties Include:

Reviews client information prior to admission. May accept appropriate admissionsAttends required meetings and training sessionsMonitors residents while they are taking prescribed medications. Completes medication logs

  • Facilitates and/or co-facilitates individual and group supportive therapy
Conducts educational lecturesCompletes Discharge SummariesResponds to incidences of maladaptive behavior in a responsible mannerContacts Program Supervisor as appropriateHandles face-to-face and telephone contacts for individuals in crises and for individuals who represent or seek assistance for persons in crisisProvides screening, assessment, and crisis counseling which includes supportive therapy, reality testing, problem solving, and/or crisis resolution with the purpose of preventing psychiatric hospitalizationProvides information and referral on community resources which include emergency services and psychiatric or medical consultation with the purpose of linking the individual with the most appropriate level and type of serviceDocuments contacts which includes name and address, date of birth, phone number (if applicable), type of service, duration of service, Base Service Unit or Medical Assistance number, Social Security number, disposition, and follow upCompletes and processes all other paperwork on program formsPerforms related work as required

Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelors Degree with major course work in either sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, theology (with emphasis in pastoral counseling), nursing, counseling, education, or a related field
  • Associates degree in mental health field and two years experience
  • RN
  • High School Diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or other social science and 2 years experience in public or, private human services with employment as a mental health staff person prior to January 1,1992
  • Be a consumer or a family member who has 1 year of experience as an advocate or leader in a consumer of family group, and has a high school diploma or equivalency
