OhioGuidestone's Lorain County Counseling program is seeking Licensed Mental Health Therapists/Counselors. This position is flexible by nature meaning that you can create your own best work/life balance by writing your own schedule! Some nights and weekends may be required as client needs arise. Individual and family mental health services are provided in the client home as well as the surrounding community. Caseloads (between 25-35 clients) could be a mix of children, teens and adults needing mental health, behavioral health, and/or AoD therapeutic interventions.

Services are provided in the client home treating mental health & behavioral health diagnoses. At OhioGuidestone, you'll receive the support you need through our training process and in your weekly supervision! This is a great opportunity to develop AND expand your skills in your field!

Essential Functions:

  • Develops a therapeutic relationship with each client

  • Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed

  • Available for clinical consultation

  • Maintains a minimum productivity level of 52% billable face-to-face contacts per week

  • Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals, parents or outside agency professionals assigned to case

  • Provide TBS and minor case management functions if needed

  • Assumes a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge

  • Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients

  • Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames

  • Participates in agency and community meetings as needed

  • Attends conferences and workshops to maintain professional competence

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance

Performance/Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment can include an agency office, school based setting, or in the community including clients homes

  • English reading and writing skills required

  • Works flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone

  • Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage, as well as basic typing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree* in social work with a valid Ohio LSW

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field is preferred

  • LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred

  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of valid Auto Insurance, and a safe driving record

  • Funding sources may require OhioGuidestone to hire an advanced degree

OhioGuidestone is looking for an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to work with children, from birth to school age, that are struggling with emotional or behavioral difficulties, either in the child's home or in the community. Our Consultants work with parent, teachers, counselors, and other professionals to offer the best treatment options. This position can be part-time or full time The childhood mental health consultant will have knowledge of the following: * State, Federal and Local laws relative to the agency's programs; * The field of social work or counseling and of community processes; * The principles and techniques of social work or counseling, including a solid understanding of child development and family functioning; * Social and economic problems related to social functioning; * Methods and techniques of early childhood assessment, strength-based resiliency and skill building curriculum; * The agency's purpose, goals, objectives, policies and personnel practices; * Cultural competency issues; * Competency of program concepts (DECA, Incredible Years, ICPS, ASQ, Triple P, and Georgetown Model), content and effective application; The childhood mental health consultant will demonstrate professional skills to do the following: * Establish and maintain meaningful, effective, professional relationships with childcare programs, staff, parents, and children (age 6 & under); * Exemplify self-discipline and self-awareness; * Conduct assessment services and behavior intervention plans at teacher/program request; * Assist early childcare staff with environmental design, and development of curricular and behavioral cues; * Provide supportive interventions with young children; * Promote a climate which fosters resiliency and positive social, emotional and behavioral development; * Provide consultation services for early childhood programs, and provide coordination and referral to community services as needed; * Facilitate parent training groups and teacher continuing education programs; * Provide parent consultations and strengthen parent involvement; * Participate productively in a multi-disciplinary team; * Communicate effectively utilizing listening skills; conversing both verbally and in writing; * Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, E-mail & internet; * Operating business machines including copier, computer and fax; * Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills. The childhood mental health consultant will demonstrate professional behavior and appropriate attitudes by: * Relating to other persons and tolerating personal differences in values and opinions which include sensitivity to service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics; * Interacting appropriately in a host setting and working cooperatively with staff members; * Abiding by the APA, ACA, or NASW Code of Ethics; * Demonstrating respect and dignity of other staff, clients, and other professionals; * Acting as an advocate for young children, their families, and early childcare providers; Essential Functions: * Adhere to client's right to confidentiality; * Plan, review and monitor services, noting progress and client needs as appropriate, including collaborating with other service providers; * Maintain relevant and necessary documentation to meet statistical, fiscal and service provision requirements of the agency; inspecting for accuracy; * Participate in an annual evaluation and on-going supervision; * Participate in agency PQI program; * Participate in on-going Staff Development Program; * Participate in individual development by reading, attending workshops, classes and available training opportunities; * Participate, when requested, in the agency's on-going public relations and community education programs; * Travel to client homes and community sites using own vehicle * Perform other related duties as assigned.
